New characters cannot do writs?

THIS QUESTION HAS BEEN ANSWERED ALREADY = Writs appear at level 6

Attempted to do writs on a new character, got certified as usual, but no writs. Thought perhaps ZOS may have introduced a timer after certification, so I waited a day... but still no writs appearing. Got a friend to create a new character, and she too could not do writs.

This is my 12th character and my friends 8th character. So is it that for at least the rest of this event new characters cannot do writs? or is it that a new mechanic has been introduced that writs are not available until a certain level?

Appreciate any insight on this :)

There might be a lockout until level 5 or 8. I'm honestly not sure off hand.

Also, remember, you do need to get certified. There should be a non-repeatable quest, at the writ boards, which you can pickup and get your certifications from.

Hi, yeah been in the game since PS4 launch, done all certification... that's why I am asking.

Perhaps you are right and there is a lockout?

Looks like the Cert quests require you've hit level 6. So, there's your answer. Grind a couple levels, and you should be golden.

Yup, level 6 for getting access to them. Eat some cake and do a couple of quests of mob grinds and you should be fine.

Ahh that was it, just went to level 6. Thanks a lot :)

Just to confirm it was the writs quests that do not appear until 6, not the certification, which you can do at an earlier level.

Never knew about the level 6 thing... huh. Got all 8 of my characters able to do the dailies so never knew about it because by the time I had to worry about it they were in their 20 and 30 ranges.

Its weird that you can certify before you can do the writs. I think it is an effort to reduce botting. I would rather them hold off on the certifications until L6 also.

My new characters don't get the certification quests before reaching level 6. I guess you can do them earlier, if you already had them (but didn't complete them), before the level requirement was added.

I've done it a couple of time recently (since last update).

    Certifications start from level 5.

Doing all certifications gives you far enough experience to be level 6. After that, you can start doing writs.

I never tried doing writs before I have all certifications so I don't know if you can do writs before level 6.

Also, if you have 10 or more in blacksmithing/clothing/woodworking, you can skip the craft part and be certified immediately (and still get the exp).
I don't know how much you need to have in other crafts in order to skip.

Actually picked up cert quests at level 3 recently, in Daggerfall and Dravon's Watch, which is why I got caught out of the level 6 to do writs, both on mules from launch era...
