Housing is where I wobble with respect to being sensible. I'm not real big on the "über" armor stuff. As a PvEer, I don't need to worry overmuch about it. But...I love finding great crafting recipes and sometimes get silly in spending there. Nevertheless, one million is held back. I've yet to be tempted to dip into it.

✭✭✭I'm one of those people who's more focused on having an immediate, heavy source of income on demand at any given time. So long as that well doesn't dry up, I'm as wealthy as I choose to be.
I have to make a concentrated effort to amass any amount of gold, though. There's no sitting in the background making things or people work for me, unless you count IC farmers doing the work for me. I earn their stones.
Best advice I can give is to never focus completely on one avenue of growth or income. It doesn't make it easier to earn more gold, but it sure does make it harder to earn less. Invest 100% into the tools you need to do your work, and don't spare the expenses if it pays dividends. Never work for your tools. They work for you. Don't baby them, be afraid to use them, or forget to use them. The converse to that is not to abuse them either, but that's hard to do in a game like ESO. ✭I'm in between. I had 1.5M in my back just an hour ago, but I just bought a house outside Marbruk. I decided not to go with Sleek Creek (Rawl'kha has an atrocious load time).
Now I ponder to spend gold on motifs or furniture. My house is quite barren.
I think I'll spend a few hours crowdfunding my furniture purchases.
I'm sure the fine folks of Tamriel don't mind parting with their goods for my home.

✭✭✭✭✭Call me Jack Benny. I have almost 15 million in the bank, and normally won't spend more than 5K on a Motif Chapter.
That being said, I hit 14 million a couple months back and before the Motif drop rate nerf, I decided to finish up the last few rare styles. So, I spent almost 2 Million on motif pages before they doubled in price which brought me into the low 12 million range. I have just now gotten back to almost 15M. However, if needed, I will buy the last few Worm pages if I don't get to farm them.Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
