One thing about the Temporarily summoned pets. While the Magic Pool increase benefits to damage are there, the pool itself does not fill in the extra amount until you regen it. Most mob fights would be over before you ever got your magic pool to the full buffed amount.
So, in other words, using generic numbers:
You have 36K Base Magic
You Summon a Pet, your Pool Max goes to 39K
Your Pool is still 36K, less whatever you spent to summon the pet until or if regen can fill it.
Shades used to be summonable early, but now only can be summoned when in aggro range to a mob or boss, same with some others. Not sure of the Netch in the Warden line has the same issue, I think you can summon that one early, odd as it does the best at filling in the pool quicker.
