Anniversary Event - Why so unbalanced?

So yes as you can see I'm going to complain in this article.

I like this event and even when I don't get a motif I normally get decent stuff minus those few times where you get red meat or guts. I do sort of hate the event because the motif market is going (probably already has) crash. But I can live with that since with the new expansion maybe we'll get new players since that seems to be the only focus of zos/bethesda instead of keeping their long term players that have been subbed and bought way to many crowns. But I digress.

The most efficient way to get anniversary boxes are Daily craft Writs. I mean you can sit all your alts in say Vivec City were all the craft stations and the turn in points are really close together. I'm okay with this sure it's causing me to run out of style stones and materials to craft on 8 toons but I can live with this.

Everyone says that the next best way is to go and do World Boss (WB) and Guild dailies. The issue is that you only get 1 of these per zone, yes some zones have multiple dailies. But unless you get a group that's organized ahead of time you can't always guarantee how many dailies you get from shares if you get any at all.

At this point if you're lucky you got 20 dailies done in possibly 2 hours. The issue is that you have to rely on others to share multiple dailies if you want more. Also there are so many people on that there is lag when porting to wayshrines that get you closer to the objective or turn in point. You just can't do these fast you have to port around or run around on foot/horseback. Than you have to enter phases here and there and all the while you're dealing with a high population that is causing lag.

So where do you go to get the motifs you need? Since zos made it so the only way you can complete the brand new Worm Cult set is to get it from the anniversary boxes. But wait they made it THE MOST RARE motif drop of the event. So we get 12 days out of 365 days this year to get the Worm Cult set on a toon (yes technically it's 13 days but we can't really count the 16th because zos will probably decide to do maintenance that Monday).

The answer is Cyrodiil Town Dailies but that's a pvp zone. There are 5 towns with 10 dailies each. 2 of these towns are not portable to. 3 of those towns are capture-able and 1 of those towns allows you to go into the buildings to pick up the dailies without having the enemy faction attack you. With these dailies you can get all 10 done in 30-50 minutes. But the key issue is it's pvp. So yes there are people that just want to pvp and think that it's free ap to pick off the people that just want to get fast easy boxes. The town dailies normally only have 1 delve quest. But than there a few towns that make you run half of cyrodiil to finish. The 5 towns are a bit unbalanced so when enemy pvpers say well go to your town to do dailies it's annoying.

I would like to see a pvp free campaign made for the anniversity event that or have zos make it so you can't attack enemy factions in the towns. Maybe make it so you can't get AP in the towns. And before someone who thinks they know it all says well you can't do quests any way while a different faction owns the town, you are WRONG. You can still pick up quests and if certain people would get over not having a free death port to the town let the other factions kill the guards so we can go into the 2 towns that have guards around the quest locations.

Though I would hate to see it happen but maybe the best thing to really do would be to remove the dailies from Cyrodiil completely. I like to pvp and yes I get bored sometimes I like to just wander around on mine own and enjoy the zone maybe we need to make it so there's no point of pve in the zone. (But than again the low lvl people would complain that they can't get their only kills possible by attacking people that just want to do quests and refuse to attack the person)

People are meant to interact with each other, trade stuff, you can give your duplicates to someone who doesn't have it yet in trade for one you don't have yet to complete your achievement. No one person is meant to collect them all by themselves, and its still a whole week left to go, plenty of time!

The Cyrodiil Town Dailies are pathetically easy because the devs assumed the element of risk would come from the possibility of fighting other players.

hey, it is what it is.

and it looks like it will be relatively easy to get the full set of worm cult motifs. if you don't get them all yourself you can buy what you don't have.

Is he complaining about the low drop rate, the time to get a decent amount of boxes, needing friends to share quests or about a pvp-empty pvp zone?
Not sure actually, i just hope i get some cheap motifs at the end of the event.

Why does everything need to be a group activity? I can't trade for the worm cult I need without having other worm cult to trade with. No one is going to trade a lesser motif even multiple lesser motifs when the worm cult will eventually be worth 300k or more since you can only get it for a limited time a year. Also there are 58 different motif styles to get in the game. You apparently get a better chance at master writs with a combination of known motifs and known traits. Yes I would love to spend time working every day to get the motif sets I need. But after spending 2 weeks on 8 toons during the Thieves guild/Dark Brotherhood event I only got 5 Order of the Hour motifs after doing the daily on every toon I have every day of the event. This makes the game feel like a waste of time. Yes I want to get the max 50/60 dailies possible on my main toon so I can explore on my alts but I can't do this with the way the boxes are distributed.

Can you please send me 700k gold? Assuming I can actually still get the Worm Cult for 50k a piece since this morning they were going for 80k

Wait till two day before the evenf ends and buy it then. It probably will be cheapest around those days. They will get cheaper, but more expensive as soon as the event ends. traders will buy every motif left for cheap and sell it more expensive

You said you have 8 alts, that's 48 boxes just from daily writs. That's all I do and I'm pretty happy with my motif haul so far (just one page of Worm Cult, but I'm not determined to complete it right away and I got other rare styles like BA).

Sell others for gold. If you don't have a trade guild go to rawkla to sell. You find rich players hanging out there. Also many need to do crafting writs.

I've only gotten an adverage of 8-11 motifs so far and no worm cult from the daily writs. Maybe my account rng is just terrible since I deconed 3000 ancestor silk and only got 1 dreugh wax last week. So who knows, glad someone is getting decent stuff

Are people actually dumb enough to sell the worm cult motif for cheap when you know you can only get it once a year especially when it's super rare compared to other event motif drops?

Also why do you all sell your motifs right away? Do you not help out your friends in game? I normally sell my drops for cost to my guildies or use them as prizes for guild events. Since the majority of them just joined the game and can't find people to run dailies and get people to share daily quests in zones when there isn't an event going.

All WB and delve dailies are shareable. I've never gone in with an organized group but people will naturally gravity toward grouping and sharing to maximize rewards. Cyrodiil town dailies can be burned through in about 20-30min depending of the town, and each one has 9 (10 for the one) that can all be picked up and completed solo

This, PvP has higher risk and therefor higher reward, same as why vet dungeons give better reward than normals.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

You don't need to go to Cyrodiil for the event, there are plenty of 'quick' dailies in PVE.

I'm doing crafting writs and the same 2 (very quick) dailies on 13 characters, for up to 100 rewards boxes every day (I don't always do all 6 writs). I don't have time to do any more than this but am getting master writs and some top level resources as well as motifs, so feel I it is a good use of my time.

Between my friends and a couple of very active guilds, there will be some swap/trade sessions when the event is over, so if I am still missing any that I am after, I will just buy them.

I've not gotten around to even trying the Cyrodiil dailies because I haven't managed to go through all the non-Cyro dailies that are quicker.

    So you have:
    - 6 Crafting Writs
    - 2 Ashlander Dailies in Vvardenfell
    - 3 quick dailies in Craglorn
    - Delve dailies in Wrothgar, Vvardenfell and Gold Coast.
    - WB quests in Gold Coast (even if you just do yours)
    - 2 Guild Dailies (skip FG if you are going for speed)

That's 17 dailies per character that are faster than Cyro dailies and you don't have to group if you don't want to. If you do want to group, then you get to do more of the delve, WB and guild quests.

Funny thing about the motif market...prices seem to be going UP, not down.

I've been watching at the low end. What was 1800 turned into 2500 turned into 3000+ as of today.
But there are also more pages and pages of motifs just sitting at high prices for a few days now.

Its inflation, influx of individuals trying too exploit people by pricing their items much higher than usual hoping for someone too come along and buy them up, as a result others are price pushing their own prices up too so they dont "lose" out.

    Sometimes it will go like this, Worm cult chests (just a flat example);

    Starting - 123,999
    Next Seller - 124,999
    Next - 125,999

It jumps by much higher margins because its calculating thousands of people doing the same thing. People are trying too exploit uneducated players who happen too have a lot of money.

Its my understanding though that worm cult wont be around after the event so the prices will skyrocket after as they'll be extreme in rarity.

I do crafting writs on a single character, i pick up mages guild and undaunted delve while im doing them. I turn in writs run and blitz those and turn them in. I port to hews bane grab the one from spencer and then blitz heist. run out and do spencers. I then port to kvatch run to board and ask for whatever quest isnt on it, im in a group in less than 30 seconds. If not i start my own group with the one on the board. I do that one and ask in the group for CG or BE. I turn in one WB quests and someone in group shares the other one. We do that one. Turn in. I then run to which ever delve quest i have sharing with zone as i make my way there. I run that one. I turn that one in and usually someone in group has the other one or i might have it on the board. Either way its pretty quick to get the last one. Turn in and jump to CWC. 2 quests are right there. I grab those and run those. Next i port to vvardenfell. Sometimes if i feel like doing more/have more time ill ask for group in zone. sometimes i get it sometimes i dont. If i dont ill run all those quests except maybe the WB which i only can run about 50% of the time if i dont want to try to find people to do with me.

I can do all this, minus the vvardenfell shares in less than 90 minutes. So 17 or 18 quests in less than 90 minutes. Since i only have 2 characters, i wish i had 8 so i could spend 5 minutes x 8 ( or an hour with logins) to get 48 turn ins. As i only get around to play a few hours a day. If i could do 48 crafting quest in my first hour i could no doubt get about 100 a day because i would do the fastest ones for me which are hews bane and gold coast which is another 6 per character. Thats 1200 boxes over the coarse of the event. I will be lucky to get a third of that and no doubt that im going to catch serious wife aggro to play enough to even do 400.

Yeah. But if you get a popular dolmen zone like Alik'r and you start off at the wrong dolmen it will take longer. It's good XP though, so if you are after that, it's worth the extra time.
