ESO Needs Fixing

i have been playing the game for about 2.5 years i m at a point of saying enough... i'm no longer excited for new content like summerset cause i know i will be playing the new trial in 15-20 FPS... the performance in end game content and cities are in a state of not being acceptable and even they know this they still did noting to fix it...

and please don't say contact customer support or something, 20 days of speaking with customer support mailing back and forth they were not able to fix the issue and they can't, its the game itself that needs fixing, after 20 days the support guy said there is noting we can do bla bla bla bye...

i don't want to play another trial or dungeon in 20 15 FPS with a
i7-4790
GTX 1080 OC
16 GB RAM

i mean seriously i m playing Far cry 5 Full ultra 2K here over 60 FPS seriously this is just like WTF

For the people who wants to check the Support Ticket here this is the Support Number: 171102-000822

at this point i m starting to think that new MMO that is optimized for high end hardware gets my support i cancelled my ESO+ sub last moth due to the fact that its not fun to play new trials with 20 FPS hearing people on Teamspeak saying "oh *** dude u get 25 FPS here ? i m getting 10 u are lucky AF" like WTF ? its already hard to do end game content like that is not even enough we are dealing with FPS problems while doing it ... ugh.. its just pushing your insanity to its limits... makes the content from being a challenge to a chore to play

And this is where the LAG comes along

i'm in Turkey people i played tons of games and i never gotten 110 Latency in a EU server, not to mention when you are in a crowded area it goes up to 300 LOL

and please don't give me that open your ports ***, all of them for ESO is opened as well as my DMZ(which didn't do jack sht)

this game needs hardcore fixing imo i want to know what people think about this performance issues.

I get pings in the 100s and normal FPS of 80-100. In dungeons or with a lot of players it drops to 50-70. The problem is that FPS takes random dumps down to below 30 for a few seconds and if you dont completely stop everything you are doing it will crash the game. It does that everywhere even standing still out in the middle of Auridon with no one around.

Also the bugs, crashes, lag, and FPS drops have gotten significantly worse over the last 3 months. In early Jan, i didnt get a lot of issues, each patch they get more severe and more frequent.

Thats what happens when you dont fix bugs and just keep piling new code on broken code. Eventually the game will be to unstable to play for most people.

Be aware that play-DLC-areas-for-free weekend promotions and the periodic festivals tend to attract more players -- the peak loads on the servers lead to more lag. Plus, there are typical peaks in traffic that correspond to real-world weekends and holidays -- if you've got the day off because work is closed for a holiday, then it's probably the same for millions of other ESO players, too. Sometimes it's just better to log off and wait for the crowds to die down, or just go farm for mats, experience, or whatever instead of tackling tough bosses/dungeons/trials and the like. Beats getting frustrated with a temporary situation. On the PC servers, it's pretty good these days unless some event is maxing the server traffic.

But ESO really isn't optimized for modern high-end hardware. (It ran on DX9 until the last year or so!) Maybe in time that will get better, but it seems like we can either have new content (which everyone wants MOAR of) or game engine improvements with less new major DLC/Chapters.

They can't fix it cause the problems are related on the code and basic stuff how the game was programmed. Sorry I'm not a IT guru and can't explain it well but a guildmate is it and he talked to support years ago an offered them help. The fix would mean to reprogram the game with a new code how works better with a game type like ESO.

i mean i'm not CPU expert either but game doesnt use the full capacity of the High end systems so maybe try DX12 or someshit or at least TRY For *** sake

i'm not talking about free weekends and yes those times it does get worse but everything i posted was talking about stuff that happens daily in normal times...

its always good to see the game go from DX9 to DX11 same with 32 bit to 64 bit these were good improvements and i would like to see them continue at the end its the end game people who will support the tittle if they move on then its RIP

Honestly? I'll be surprised if they ever fix it.

At this point, I expect they consider the engine to be "mature" and they are not looking to be making any more big changes to it.

ESO is built on ZOS Engine 1.0 and I expect that the next game will improve upon this with ZOS Engine 2.0. In many ways, I wish that they had not started out with ESO. Then, some title I don't care about could have been their teething title. When they rolled out ESO on Engine 2.0, it would have included a lot of what they learned, but did not fix, from the first game.

Part of me is hoping maybe they could find a way to bring some of the improvements from Engine 2.0 back to ESO. Another part of me insists on calculating the expense and person-hours required for such an undertaking. I doubt they are willing to spend that much on ESO. This would essentially be re-inventing the game. Given that, or creating a new game to diversify their portfolio, I would expect them to make a new game and let ESO stand as-is.

We'll see. I would love to be wrong.

It almost seems sometimes like they are skimping on the servers (and what capitalist corporation would ever do that...), so once in a while I hit a peak time where walking around town is next to impossible (let alone anything else) even as my Internet connection is doing just fine.

Incidentally, I recommend people get Net Uptime Monitor or something comparable so that you can literally show people - hey, here is my uptime log for the past X hours, no failures, average response time of Y ms, and yet I can't take three steps in-game without lagging for 10 seconds (not an exaggeration on at least a few occasions to date). "It's not me, it's you."(TM)

One can only hope the performance is greatly improved soon as its getting worse and worse every patch. i never used to have to stop playing because of lag - now its a thing, becoming more common.

If it can't be sold for a disgustingly greedy price then I doubt they'll acknowledge it even exists.

I'm one of thos lucky ones that isn't really affected by lag. Hoever, I was watching a mate's stream and it was pretty horrible to see - the game looked like Minecraft the settings were so low and it still had all kinds of stuttering framerates. Ugh.

This might fix issues with FPS some PC and Mac systems. I don't expect to see a big difference on mine.

I expect that the character assembly work will be more noticeable than the multi-core work, especially on consoles.

It will not fix server side lag and drops, which is a big part of the problem.

well lets start by getting 60 FPS in trials first then they can start working on servers

i will be extremely happy to see if that really works better to have 1 problem rather then 2

A lot of us have said “enough” already. Zeni clearly has no inclination of actually fixing many of the game’s major technical problems (pvp players have known this for a long time). Every time I’ve tried to come back to ESO over the last year, I get reminded very quickly why I left. Not even worth trying anymore.

I canceled my subscription a long time ago and refuse to buy anything. Pvp performance is junk. When they unstickied their performance thread and wheeler stopped responding to performance questions it was clear they have no intention of doing anything more. Their focus is on pve content and crown crates. Pvp at this point is the ugly red headed step child that Zos tries to ignore. Zos pushed the engine too hard and too fast and now can't fix it. Many can speculate as to why it doesn't work e.g., too many server calculations, lightning patch, anti cheat/bot code, or just too many people in a quadrant. Whatever the reason, Zos pretends that it doesn't exist and has moved on. If Zos has moved on so should you. Plenty of games on the net that are just as fun to play with no performance issues.
