[NA] The Divine Order - Holy Order Guild [Neutral, DC-Based, Heavy RP]

FishyStickSandwich
OVERVIEW

The Divine Order is a conglomeration of many different knightly and priestly orders. Its central purpose is to fulfill the will of the Divines, whatever their sphere. There is no Grand Master for the Order itself, but is instead ruled by representatives of each independent order, usually with a particular deity as patron. Most orders are both knightly and priestly, that is, include men and women of the faith whether or not they are combat able. Beyond the orders, there are also laymen who, while not beholden to any oath, serve the Order in many other respects.

As worship of the Eight goes beyond political lines, members of all races and all factions in Tamriel are to be admitted. Altmer, Imperials, Bretons, and Nords are expected in the greatest numbers, but any other being that wishes to embrace the faith is most assuredly welcomed. This, however, brings up the issue of military involvement. The Divine Order's official purpose in Cyrodiil is to secure peace, fend off the Daedra, and defend the many temples and holy sites in the region. If members see it as an imperative that they engage themselves in the Alliance War, they should take care to not harm any fellow brothers and sisters.

RANKS

Knightly:

- The Divine Council / Grand Masters -

The Divine Council is made up of the Grand Masters from each of their respective orders. This includes but is not limited to, with the name of their knightly order followed by the name of the order itself, the Knights of the Circle (Order of Arkay), the Knights of Stendarr, Crusaders (Order of Stendarr), the Order of the Hour (Order of Akatosh), the Maran Knights (Order of Mara), the Kynaran Order (Order of Kynareth), the Order of the Lily (Order of Dibella), the Knights Mentor (Order of Julianos), the Knights of Iron (Order of Zenithar).

A Grand Master has direct control over their respective order. It is he or she who chooses which brothers or sisters to promote and what missions to undertake. Though he or she is largely independent, certain initiatives must be confirmed by the Divine Council, and the Divine Council is also responsible in appointing a new Grand Master of an order, which must be a person of Knight Commander rank within his respective order.

- Knight Commander -

A Knight Commander serves under his or her respective Grand Master. He or she usually placed in charge of a certain region, and often times an entire province.

- Knight -

A Knight serves under his or her respective Knight Commander. He or she is a full member of his or her order. This brings with itself much greater responsibilities and the expectation to not falter in judgement or battle.

- Initiate -

An Initiate serves under his or her respective Knight Commander, though may be apprenticed to a Knight. He or she has been inducted into his or her order, but is not yet a full fledged member. It is expected of he or her to train and learn in constant devotion.

Priestly:

- Primate -

A Primate, though the highest priestly rank, is more akin to a Knight Commander, serving under his or her respective Grand Master. He or she is usually placed in charge of a certain region, and as is the case with the Knight Commander, often times an entire province.

- Priest / Monk / Prior -

A Priest or Monk serves under his or her respective Primate. He or she has gone through the process of ordination and has become a full member of the clergy. A Priest is usually assigned to a particular own or temple, while a Monk usually finds him or herself in a more isolated settlement, such as a priory. A priory is led by a Prior, who is first among his fellow brothers and sisters, and under a Primate. Monks are referred to as 'brother' or 'sister,' while Priests and Priestesses are referred to as 'father' and 'mother,' respectively. Traditionally, Mara, Dibella, and Kynareth have female followers, and the other Divines are attended by men. This is less of a rule than a noticeable bias.

- Acolyte -

An Acolyte serves under his or her Primate, though is often involved mostly with a Priest or Monk in a particular place of worship. He or she has been inducted into his or her respective order, but has yet to go through the process of ordination. He or she usually tends the temple and aids with prayers and rituals. Though, in a priory, his or her fellow brothers and sisters will usually engage in even the most menial chores alongside the Acolyte. This teaches humility.

Layman:

- Associate -

An associate is a person who is not a part of any holy order, though serves the Divine Order or any of the independent orders within. This can range from scholars and mages to porters and cooks. All have a role in the service of the Divines, whether or not that calling involves a blade or a temple.

Are you planing on a EU branch? I'm interested, but my connexion is terrible enough as it is on the EU megaserv...
Hinaloth Fulein Lester, at your service.

The Weaver roams the lands of Nirn once more. What will befall his steps?

I heard Zenimax claimed that there would be little difference in latency between playing an EU or NA server, but whether or not that is true I have not tried out.

I am currently living in the EU but made my guild in US because I was moving back in a few months. I'm basically lag free.

Thats odd, because when I click on your link, it looks like it brings me to a page where I was already registered, unless that is because my other guild used the same website hosts?

Malacath is not an Aedra. More so, he is an Daedric Prince. While not the worse of them all, a follower of Malacath does not have a place among or ranks.

I left a comment on your application. Be sure to see it. And then, perhaps, if they get the server's hamsters moving, I'll get to see you in-game.

Our PvP campaign is going to be Skull Crusher, which is popular with lots of RPers. We're definitely going to use Chorrol as a bit of a RP hub.
