ZOS, this post is for you. I am impressed. I haven't played your game in 6 months because I got sick of the nonsense, but after reading about the changes coming back you've earned my business back. So kudos to you ZOS.

Based on what I have seen of the coming changes most of them will not be beneficial to me and for the most part will be solid nerf strikes against me. But so what, I am glad to see it, for the most part the changes look like they will have a positive impact on the community as a whole and they certainly are not worth whining about because they might make a couple things a little more difficult.

So let me reiterate what has already been said, good job. (NO, I am not being sarcastic, I really think these are good changes.)

This is the first patch in forever that I remember being excited for b/c of the base changes to the game and not just the new content.

Only the ZOS community will tell them good job on something that hasn’t been put in game yet.
Many things we have been promised over the years and still haven’t received.

But I’m happy you all are happy with the (FUTURE) changes.

I will say that I agree with many points of view, and everyone enjoys their own aspect of the game.

    BUT...

I have to admit that I am sick of the major changes constantly. For anyone that plays the game on a day-to-day basis, it's a real struggle to keep up. Not in the way that it is impossible to adapt to change, and everything always works out, but in a way that the changes are always so drastic and so close to one another that it gets aggravating constantly changing gear/skills all the time.

Ah well, such is the life of a meta chaser though. Adapt and overcome.

I'd rather have a dynamically changing game than one that's stale and filled with everyone having the same stats.

Change comes with both good and bad things, of course, but one thing I tend to notice after all these announcements: I don't see many people leaving the game.

We adapt, we rebuild, and we keep playing.

I find it refreshing. One of the reasons I left was because the game started getting stale. After two major release updates, coming back, I can attest this game feels entirely different.

    Makes me all tingly inside.

Here is a hint, be happy with 96% to 98% of the theoretical maximum. Those last few percent are not the reason your getting killed or not on the leaderboards (in most cases unless you have a perfectly timed rotation all the time)

You know something, after 1.6 (removal of Soft Caps), I have the pretty much the same gear on my characters today even after all the changes. I do have different gear on different classes for sure, but I have not felt the need to throw anything out and start over. I put some cost reduction glyphs on my jewelry and called it good. I base this on using various build editors out there, and some parsing I have done on own. All the changes I think I want to make end me up in almost the same place I am now.

But, being able to use Monster sets is huge. I have multiple copies of most of the Monster sets and am finally able to use them.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

From the looks of it, none of the changes mentioned will benefit stam DK's. ZOS knows nothing when it comes to balance. This isn't new. Nor will it ever change. Not sure how a new chapter will suddenly show that they now have some deep understanding of game mechanics, because any reasonable person should realize it shouldn't.

    Lol, glad you're tingly!

Yeah, it is good to have an ever-changing experience. I guess I'm just frustrated when the major updates are so close together. And yeah, we do adapt and overcome, but being in and leading a really strong end games trials guild is tough on our members because we all have to adapt at once and change a lot to stay competitive. It's a strain on the end game community, and that's why there have been so many to leave it. I should say that I am on console and the end game community is made up of only a couple of guilds now due to such drastic changes constantly. Would be nice for it to be static for at least a year or year and a half. That would at least give smaller guilds the ability to practice up on their main raiding characters.

Yeah, I can say that I haven't changed gear a whole lot, but that's because I saved previous meta gear and have them golded out already lol. The major factor that comes to play is with the end games raiding guilds and their ability to change group composition and have everyone adapting to change at once. It's a tough time to be in that part of the community and making sure everyone is keeping up with it.

Seems like by the time everyone in the guild/group has adapted and starts hitting solid numbers again, things are getting changed to the point that whole classes have to be swapped out to keep up with the competition.

A great lesson to be learned from Bungie. They increased the TTK and it killed their PvP.

It might not of been so bad but all the other changes on top of it making group mentality the only way prosper in PvPwas a mistake. Nerfing grenades and supers, stupid idea, shrinking the maps, another bad idea, 4 man teams.......the list goes on. Then making all the weapons have the same rolls, no more reason to grind. Even the PvE went in the toilet with the "NEW IMPROVED" raid style.

This, note that horn of the reach changes was an meta nerf, and an easy meta as in thief / sharpened, still majority liked it as it balanced traits. Now if dropped after the transmute station we would not been as happy.
Morrowind was hated as it was an overall nerf for all, not done an dungeon as magic DD afterward, done some normal trials, note that in nAS pug Kagrenac's Hope is probably bis on an magic build :) Laying down dots and rez then repeat.
Kagrenac's is amazing in pvp zergs or nAS but way overrated as any sort of bis.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

The changes look good for most of the classes especially the warden and templar changes but looks like another patch where mag sorcs in particular will still be mediocre at best compared to other classes but im looking forward to jewely crafting and that staves and 2 handers will count as a two set so maybes there hope I can main a sorc again.
