Character Creation Lighting

Well, I'm having some issues with the character creation. Poor lighting making it almost impossible to make out any details and create a satisfactory face. I had the same issue with beta but a few friends of mine have never experienced this.
Has anyone else had this issue? Can anyone offer some advice?

Having the exact same problem, worked fine in all Betas but now character is covered in dark shadows as above, and there are odd shadow bugs in-game.

Turning off shadows or playing with graphics quality does nothing to fix it. Frustratingly, it loads in fine of a split-second and then pops in the bugged shadows.

i had the same issue and changing d3d11 to opengl fixed it.

Thanks for the suggestion but it doesn't seem to work for me. I go to Documents > Elder Scrolls Online > Live (Live is the only one there) > User settings.

Most of the changes suggested, like SET MIP_LOAD_SKIP_LEVELS and SET SIMPLE_SHADERS aren't even there in the user settings file. I did ctrl+f and tried to find them and words within them like "shade" but nothing came up.

Any thoughts on this?

I have Radeon 6770m but I can't seem to find the driver updates anywhere

You'll want to use the Radeon Mobility driver:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/737-28041SupportforATIMobility.aspx

It has a two stage install process. First, you install an installer. Then, that installer downloads and installs the driver.

The installer will check computer for compatibility. Sometimes, notebook manufacturers make modifications to the hardware that would make the generic driver incompatible. If this is the case, you need a driver from the notebook manufacturer. Typically, manufacturers stop making drivers 6 months after the product is released.

Give the Mobility installer a try.

I've installed the Mobility Installer but I can't seem to find it anywhere on my computer in order to run it. Even when I do a search all I can find is the initial .exe installer thing.

In my character Creation screen the character stands in shadow, so its very difficult for me to see what Im creating. I have given up on making alts. I have only one character and im not happy with its appearance, which is due to the fact that im forced to create the character while its covered in dark shadow. Why?
