boycott all player sales over 50k

I refuse to pay for anything over 15-30K depending on the motif, and how badly I want it. That being said, I will list my motifs at the going rate. Just because I don't want to pay that price does not mean someone else wont. But then, I only buy motifs anyway, and I just grind those out and sell the duplicates. I don't have the time to worry about flipping things. Only half an hour after work and training.

    @jedtb16_ESO, @Nihility42, @Sheezabeast:

I have the recipe. If I didn't have it, then I would give the ingredients to a guildmate and have them make it.

But the point you really seem to miss requires a little brainpower so stick with me: the magicka version of this recipe also comes from an event, however it is so plentiful that almost 6 months after the event those recipes can be had for free from guild traders (5k). DCT on the other hand comes from an event that just ended and is still selling for 100k.

So, *** move by ZoS just like last year. Drop rate should have easily been 4x or more what it was.

Nah, they learned from their mistake with Witchmother's, the price of which has only just started to recover to where I can sell them at 10k again. They should've made Witchmother's rarer, not the other way around.

Bah, I got two recipes for achievement from guildmate and give away those I already had to other guildmates. Leader from my other guild gave even two dubious camoran throne recipes to those who still needed it. Just find guild where people helps each other (goodluck with that) and voila. In my opinion it's ridiculous to demand so much from those with less luck, but I won't change society so I don't really care.

the last jester event showed a big flaw in the system that is being exploited by many players. it is that many players are posting single items for a stupid amount that are needed to complete achievement. Especially for limited avaliable items like a specific one from the jester even. Also many of the players that post for stupid amounts also use 3 party programs to scan for when someone does put an item up for a fare price just so they can go buy it and then throw it up for a stupid price. This practice has been going on for a long time in the game ever since the get the player stores working. So I am calling on all player that are sick and tired of this to boycott buying any single or stacked items that final total price if 50k or higher. sooner or later the players that are doing this will learn that if they try to sell something at a stupid amount they will not make any money.

But, but... the forums told me this couldn’t happen in ESO because of the Guild Traders! That’s a problem that only happens in other MMOs!

Hey OP it is called playing the market. If you dont want to pay that much go farm the items yourself.

It can happen in this case, even with the guild trader system, because there are probably dozens of players all watching every guild store for cheap throne recipes, Anyone with half a brain knows they'll go back up, so everyone is trying to buy them cheap. It's not like it's one super rich dude doing it all, which could much more easily happen with a centralized auction house.

Yeah, I know it’s been going on since TTC got up and running. I was being facetious.

What makes you think it’s always just “one rich dude” in other MMOs? Playing the auction house is a pretty popular activity. Trust me, it’s a lot of people with way too much free time on their hands.

Kind of like ESO. Too many people with too much free time hanging out on TTC and MM. the end result is always the same ;)

wow i am so glad that we have so many players that do not get it and are just mad because they are the one that sell things for stupid amounts. so these people do know. i ran all 4 days of the even 8 characters each day. so that was 32 boxes + 8 from starting so that wast 40 boxes. out of those 40 boxers i get 4 of the throne. so now the event is over. to complete this achievements I ether have to wait 1 year or pay a player's stupid amount. for an item that is limited to 4 days out of 365. that is stupid. but hay I figured that a lot of people would not like this. to much greed in the game.

To be fair, PC has an add-on that tracks what's on the stores. However, it doesn't update instantly, and still requires you get to the kiosk in question because of the trader system, which slows it down a little. In a centralized system an addon would probably group those items under a selected price point for quick buy ups.

So OP’s real nemesis is RNG, not the free market.

Remember: random gives everyone an equal chance, but that doesn’t mean the results will be fair.

Economics 101. Anyone that doesn't understand supply vs. demand needs to go back to school. Just because YOU don't feel like paying more than 50k doesn't mean I have to sell for less. I'd LOVE to own a Lamborghini, but I don't feel like paying $200K for one. I'm not going to the dealership and demand they lower the price to $50k. I'll get laughed out of the place.

Don't see how this is any different than every other MMO in regards to their Auctions Houses.

Rare items sell for high, people buy low and sell high, rinse and repeat.

Nothing new here nor is it going to change because it's never been needed. YOU control how much you're paying or something and if something is outside your price range, screw it.

I only had one day of the festival due to a holiday. Bought the DCT receipe for 55k the first day from a Craglorn guild trader.

I dont understand why you’d want to boycott sales above 50k. If prices are too high nobody will buy, people will buy if the price is right.

I personally would have payed 100k for DCT or WPB receipes if I couldnt find them cheaper. Its simply a must have for many builds and only an one time investment.

Hey i remember last year i had 2 of these left over.
I gave one to a guild member that needed it. Then when i found out how much it was worth i put the other on a trader. Made what i thought was a great chunck o gold. If i had held out 1-2 more months i couple have quadrupled my profit.

I have to say this time around, i'm not sure if it was luck, but i got those stupid cherry branches nearly every 3rd time, and it seems right after that a DCT recipe. What i found the rarest this time around was the tent recipe, I only got 1 the whole time.

So from what I'm seeing the market is NOT flooded with DCT recipes…..hmmm so its safe to start listing at 1 mil?
    Ummm stuff… about stuff…or something.
