Warden is supposed to be magicka based? That's what ZoS says

I started a new Warden, a giant Nord with heavy armor and a 2H sword.

ZoS's new player adviser says to always pick magicka skills and morphs. It is advising me to respec out of my stamina abilities, and pick all magicka abilities.

Weird. I hope some new player doesn't actually follow this ....

The advisor can be switched between multiple builds. All of them default to a basic magicka build, but all of them have five different builds, including Stam DPS, Tanking, Magicka DPS (that's distinct from the default) and a healer spec.

Change the settings of the Skill Advisor, and pick "Savage Stalker"
"Stand strong, stay true and shelter all."

I have only messed with the level advisor for about 30 seconds, but cant you switch the type of character you want to be? I thought most had a magic and stamina template to follow. My guess is you are set to magic.

Any new player that actually reads the tool tip and clicks on the gear icon will quickly see that there are 5 builds: basic vanilla, magicka DPS, stamina DPS, healer and tank.

If they're a smart new player they'll pick the one they want.

Ok, I didn't see where you could pick a build, I just let it default.

I'll set it to a stamina type and see what it does.

    Answer: Amusing things.

I'm torn. I think the system is a good idea, but it's a bit goofy at times.

Baby steps. I'm sure it'll be refined over time.

Some builds for some classes are pretty good. Others not so much.

There are even some cases where the 4th or 5th skill on a class line is part of the build but not lower ones and it never tells you to pick even one early ability in that line to get it leveling.

And the default beginner build doesn't recommend anything but class skills, not even the all important resource regen armor line passives... nor which type of armor to use for that matter.

But at least the OP now knows there's more than one build to pick from :)
