Yeah, not wild about this. I was hoping it would be a fairly reasonable grind.

I am happy that the event will still be stretched out over 12 days. Jester Festival only ran for four or five days this year, and I missed almost all of it.

So people looking and expecting that rare worm cult motif. Please don't get your hopes up and then spam the forums crying and moaning how unfair ZOS is and how stupid the event was because you didn't get that ultra rare motif complete set or whatever it is else you will complain about. It's just an event you might get something cool or you might not each time you do daily. SO, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODS DO NOT EXPECT TO GET ANYTHING OR EVERYTHING YOU WANT!

If you don't get what you want shrug your shoulders and go on about your day. Remember you started this event with it costing you nothing and you will end the event it costing you nothing. Oh and also please do not complain about any guild merchant pricing flux due to event.

These reward boxes contain crafting materials (ore, ingredients, runes, etc.) and a single rare crafting item (Nirncrux, style items, motif pages, etc.) Note: Gift Boxes cannot be earned by completing infinitely repeatable quests.

I think it just means if you can repeat the quest as often as you like back to back then it doesn't count. Dailies do have a restriction on repeating, you have to wait for reset.

I don't know that there are any truly unrestricted do as many times as you want quests, but that's still my reading. Regular daily quests did count for boxes last year.

Yeah, but the ones that are specifically being blocked are quests that you can immediately repeat endlessly. For example, you can't simply grind the Thieves Guild Tip Board jobs or the Dark Brotherhood contracts. Another example would be the cyrodiil quests. Finally, Master Writs don't count. Again, there's no time limit, so you're only restricted by the number of writs you've got.

In contrast, things like delve dailies (on Vvardenfell, in CWC, in Wrothgar, in The Gold Coast, or from the Undaunted) do count. Writs are usually the easiest thing to do, and you can get six boxes that way, fairly quickly. Not that it matters much, but I'm legitimately unsure if trial weeklies count.

Yeah, pro tip! Collect all your writs and pledges, and the mages/fighters/undaunted delve and even craglorn dailies Wednesday and do not do them until event opens! Then collect that day's set and do those!

@BlackEar if they consider one pot or one poison or one provisioning food/drink to be an "item" then yes, these numbers would make sense.

As far as the crafting writ grind goes, at least on PC NA you end up making an OK profit from doing them, at current mat prices. You are 100% correct about the time investment, though. If you're not already doing these then even with addons it can take some time out of your day, depending on how tight your schedule is.

To @rynth I would say that I generally agree with you, but you should take into account that this is also the only way to get the new Worm Cult motif. If the drop rate is too low then that's going to severely limit how many people can use it. I'll be getting about 1080 boxes throughout the event so I like my own chances, but I care about what others have access to and would be sad for them if there end up not being enough motif pages to go around.

I think it's the wording of the article that has people on edge. It's implied that they're going to be rarer drops, and motif pages weren't that common last year to begin with. We'll see, though!

There is a cool down on cyrodiil quests, they should drop them. ( there is just more than one per day) its not like tip board of assassination quests)

Last year, I didn't even know that motifs dropped from the event. My rng/the drop chance was that low. I'm preeeeeeeety worried if this year is any similar.

Uh, no. Whales are players who spend massive amounts of money on a game. Players who are wealthy in game? Sure. But there's basically no efficient way to convert crowns into gold (by design), so this isn't a whale problem.

I guess tons of Worm Cult pages will invade the guild stores just like Skinchanger and Hollowjack. These two are beautiful styles available for a short period of time - just the same as Worm Cult, and their drop was more than enough.

if any juice left,proly will go Cyro for more
maybe we create a separate thread for loot ? like: Platform,number of boxes opened,motifs found ?

besides, what are the drop chances for other rare sets maybe the ods will be the same if they use a "standard" drop chance for dungeon motifs etc.
