The time: The anniversary event begins on Wednesday, April 4 at 10:00AM EDT and runs until Monday, April 16 at 10:00AM EDT.

The cake: When you complete “Ache for Cake" you'll receive the brand-new, three-tiered Anniversary Jubilee Cake. It'll be added to your Mementos within your Collectibles UI.

The quests: To help you identify what daily and weekly quests are available to you, we have also added the “Adventurer's Almanac, 2nd Edition" to the game. Upon reading it, if you have completed the Mages Guild quest line, the new book will be added to your Eidetic Memory and be accessible from your Journal at any time. You can find the book somewhere near Chef Donolon in each capital city. The book contains everything you need to know about the available weekly and daily quests, including their location, activity type, requirements, and recommended level of experience to complete.

The rewards: Throughout the event, any daily or weekly quest you complete will earn you an Anniversary Gift Box (in addition to their regular rewards). As you likely know, there are no guarantees with RNG. That in mind, doing 10+ dailies on 6-8 characters a day for 2 weeks makes me feel ok about my odds.

Probably painfully rare. i do not look forward to two weeks of "WTS Worm Cult Legs 1.5mil PST" messages flooding the zone chat. If ZOS understood how toxic these super rare drops make the community, how it sucks the enjoyment out of events like this with everyone trying to suck as much gold out as possible of other players, they'd ease up on the u;lra tight RNG chances, but they literally don't care how bad it is in-game, as long as people log on and pay their subs.

Presumably, since it probably counts all crafted items, including consumables. And a lot of people do the crafting dailies on multiple toons, many who are just crafting alts/mules, so they aren't fighting.

I have 1 motif to get one I slogged my but off to get the rest. There were times I barely came out of pvp or dungeons for a while . I don't need a map to find vvardenfell chests I know where they are -How rare is worm cult going to be?... please ZOS let it be be a reward and not another grind -urggh

Hmm. I presume that's "total number of times players have been killed" rather than "number of players killed".

Either way, there's a good number more deaths in PvE than in PvP..... hmm. Or do battlegrounds kills not count as "kills by Alliance". Yay, vague-but-impressive-sounding statistics.

It is quite realistic, considering the fact, for example, that poisons are being crafted per 20 at a time.

It is quite realistic, considering the fact, for example, that poisons are being crafted per 20 at a time.

And sometimes I just craft large piles of poisons or food to vendor for gold.

Agreed! I'm only going to have 54 crafting dailies (double the first day thanks to your tip!). Plus, I was planning on doing some of the other dailies, at least on my main, but I don't have the energy or time to mindlessly do dailies for the next week and a half to try and complete this motif.

I share the concerns of @jssriot in that these kinds of events, while fun in and of themselves, engender a lot of greed due to the extreme rarity of items. But, I guess since these events come around every year, it's not entirely necessary to get 100% completion the first time. If people were patient enough (myself included!), they could wait until the following year to try again. But, even then, with the extremely low drop rate we're assuming, it still might not be possible to get the full motif in a subsequent year, without trading, and we all know that players are gonna really push the envelope on the pricing for these pages, which is what I find rather distasteful.

Food, Potions, plus crafting writ dailies. Some days I don't even cast an unkind glance at a mudcrab but I still craft over a dozen items per character.

Oh and then there's all the crafting I do to get rid of excess provisioning ingredients. I'm still only just barely getting started with that, but it's in the tens of thousands already. I didn't even get that many kills leveling my last two characters during the Jester event.

this might be possible, since many ppl do crafting dailies on multiple chars, and each Crafting line yields arround 4-5 items / day / char...this can actually stack up really high, really fast.

I'm hoping they're not obnoxiously rare, but in any case I've got eight characters ready to do writs. I'm only going to have time to do those during PAX (as thrilling as the thought of fighting with convention center WiFi is, no) but after that I think I'll pick up some of the easier dailies too.

Worst case hoard duplicates and trade them. I'd really rather not have Buoyant Armiger 2.0 with the amount of suffering I had to go through. <.<

I have been steadily preparing for this event for the past year.

All characters now level 50, by the end of the day the last will have all crafts at 50, and by the end of tomorrow the last of them will all have the skill points to do max-level writs on all crafts. Then it's 15 characters per day doing max-level writs, 6 total per character, and for this event that means 6 boxes per character! That's 90 boxes a day for 12 days. 1080 BOXERINOS!!!

Plus, you know, daily PvP quests and all the other nonsense I get up to. Man this is gonna be worth it. And, more generally, people are going to have so many more motifs to play with for fashion things!!! I am SO. HYPE!!

If I have to do 90+ that is territory I cannot go into.

My whole point was that folk shouldn't have to sink unhealthy amount of time to get these rewards. Doing that volume of writs seems *** scary to me. Sincerly hope logging in each day and doing the writs on a couple of characters + other dailies will be sufficient. Otherwise the fun element will be gone and it will just be a mechanical grind.

Just leveling alchemy creates a lot of poisons. I assume players aren’t counted as monsters. So the pvp poison used to monster killed ratio might get outrageous. I’m just guessing based on the number of times I’ve died after getting hit with poisons.

I've gone through long stretches where I did a lot of crafting writs, ran a bunch of dungeon (so that any kill I experienced was shared with either 1 or 3 other people), and did little else.

I don't get why we are entitled to get everything? It's an event with some chance for some great rewards not the other way around. Play during the event and you might get a nice reward, enjoy it. It's not just about the loot hunt.

I bet when the anniversary news appeared...most of the people skipped to the REWARDS paragraph.

This includes food and potions also crafting writs, But still the number surprises me as high.

Highest paid bounty was not so scary high.

Indicates player dying in pve too, Players killed in pvp would be less than 360 million, add some for battleground, perhaps add IC if not in list this would be less.

These reward boxes contain crafting materials (ore, ingredients, runes, etc.) and a single rare crafting item (Nirncrux, style items, motif pages, etc.) Note: Gift Boxes cannot be earned by completing infinitely repeatable quests. Rarer rewards include hard-to-get motif pages previously only available in Vvardenfell, the Horns of the Reach dungeons, and the Clockwork City. Even rarer, you could receive a motif page for the brand-new Worm Cult style, a look that can only be found in the Anniversary Gift Boxes!

Just how rare are they gonna make the new motif? Sounds like we only get this event for a CHANCE at it?

Probably painfully rare. i do not look forward to two weeks of "WTS Worm Cult Legs 1.5mil PST" messages flooding the zone chat. If ZOS understood how toxic these super rare drops make the community, how it sucks the enjoyment out of events like this with everyone trying to suck as much gold out as possible of other players, they'd ease up on the u;lra tight RNG chances, but they literally don't care how bad it is in-game, as long as people log on and pay their subs.

This is exactly what you are doing (ZOS) to the game and your player base. Why do you want us to hate the game?

I don't get why we are entitled to get everything? It's an event with some chance for some great rewards not the other way around. Play during the event and you might get a nice reward, enjoy it. It's not just about the loot hunt.

I bet when the anniversary news appeared...most of the people skipped to the REWARDS paragraph.

That's where you are wrong. People only do events for the rewards (loot, and XP). If these were not offered than there would be no need to even have an event.
