Is there a one bar Mag/Sorc build PVE only

Bansidhe1965
I'm using Alcast's Mystic pve build as a guide, but weapon swap is a pain for me is there a viable ! bar setup,2nd for emergencys.

Or should I just practice more :pensive:

Not keen on pets as I don't like the look and dragging around a small zoo

And yes she's my first char ,so I will try weapon swap :)

Well, the only effective one bar build is Pet Sorc but you said you don't like pets.

So you're either going to like pets enough to use them or you're going to use weapon swap more often.

It usually boils down to what kind of content you want to do. I usually play with one DPS and one healing bar on my Magtoons and it's absolutely fine. You won't do amazing DPS but that is not needed for normal content at all. If you want to play veteran content (=hard mode dungeons) you should make use of both bars and practice weapon swap.

If you play on the PC there are multiple ways to make weapon swap very simple.

    I don't know about consoles.

If the content you’re generally running is Normal/Vet dungeons, then without using potions or pets the best one-bar setup for Sorc imo is:
    1. Inner Light/Conjured Ward
    2. Liquid Lightning
    3. Power Surge
    4. Force Pulse
    5. Blockade of Elements
    6. Shooting Star/Elemental Storm

You get Major Sorcery and Major Prophecy, along with that powerful Surge HoT as long as you deal damage. Dodge Roll if there is a hard-hitting attack coming your way. If you really need a Shield, unslot Inner Light (though you’ll lose Major Prophecy). Also if you haven’t unlocked Shooting Star, use Ele Rage.

Another solution to avoid casting a Shield is to use Iceheart. It’s a fantastic set for dungeons (mainly when you don’t have a Shield ability slotted) and also trial progression.

I havent messed with it in a while, but you used to be able to actually pull really good damage on a sorc without bar swapping (30K+). It does use pets. If you are looking for a really easy sorc build, it's kind of hard to ignore pets as they play right into the theme.

You basically setup your front bar as follows: Liquid Lighting, Elemental Blockade, Volatile Familiar, Twilight Matriarch, Daedric prey, and Meteor.

Then on your back bar, you add all your long duration utility. Both pets (need to be there because toggles), Power surge, boundless Storm, Hardened Ward, and DestroUlt/Storm Attro.

In between fights, swap to your back bar and cast Surge and Boundless Storm. Both are very long duration, obviously keep them up mid-fight if possible. Otherwise, you stay on your front bar. Light Attack>Liquid Lighting, Light Attack> Elemental Blockade, Heavy Attack>Familiar, Heavy Attack>Daedric Prey, repeat. Cast your twilight if you need the heal, you also have a shield on your back bar for emergencies. You wont break any records this way, but this would frankly get you through all normal and a good chunk of vet content without too much trouble.

You want a lighting staff on your front bar, and the usual magic sorc DPS sets will do the trick (necro, julianos, willpower, etc).

Certainly, if you get more comfortable with bar swapping, you will have more options available to you.

The below link might be of benefit to you. It’s another pet build but it has a simplified rotation so even though you have to bar swap you don’t have to think too much about what you’re doing and can just get used to swapping without worry then. Hope it helps.
