opallithia✭✭✭I wanted to love this house, but after trying it out on the PTS I ended up talking myself out of buying it for several reasons. This coming from a huge fan of the Redguard housing styles, who owns all of them, even so far as to make each of them their own little businesses in roleplay with backstories and everything.
That said... the palace made perfect sense for me. I was going to get it until I tested it.
For a house "meant to catch the light" it is so, so dark. And it will be nearly IMPOSSIBLE to light inexpensively. Especially with a mere 700 item cap... you're going to easily fill half that item count with lighting items alone. I'm going to go out on a limb and say I think this is the largest house in the game so far, in terms of space you can actually decorate. SO many places are going to look empty due to the restrictive item limit.
We need items that give out huge amounts of light if we're going to keep getting gigantic spaces like this, perhaps make them environmental effects, even. Because there is no way I'm paying upwards of 100$ for a house, and then paying additional hundreds to get the very expensive lighting items that match it.

✭✭✭✭✭I've always wanted a Hew's Bane house. This one looks great, but I won't be getting it if it's crown store exclusive (I just can't justify to myself spending $100+ on a virtual good). duendology✭✭✭✭✭In terms of space, it's huge. I like the interior better to exterior as it does not look too "redguardish". I am not a fan of redguard architecture in general. This one, when it comes to exterior, is too fake and plastic/fantastic to me. It looks like a house from Aladdin cartoon. BUT, like I said, the interior is nice.
I won't be getting it, not my aesthetic preference, and I can have my hand cut off it will cost more than 20 000 crowns!!!PC/NA

Would love go see it increased to 15 or 20. I also have the Linchal Manor which is currently used to drop extra furnishings I collect each week. Will get around to decorating one of these days....Lol0 -

Yes! Lighting takes up so much of the very limited space in housing. The item cap needs a raise for houses as big as these. Is hard to have a well lit, filled out, detailed house with this cap0 -

For me, even though I still plan to get Dawnlight Palace, one thing I think HPH does better is its seaside view. The walkway lading down to the beach? Much better then the palace having stairs leading down to just water.0
