What The Hell Am I Getting Hit With?

I'l make it short and simple since this is pissing me off. In campaigns. Run into 1 or 2 players alone. One player hits me with some damn thing and it drains all of my magicka and stamina down to nothing. Then they rush me and die. I don't even have a chance to do any god damn thing because of whatever the hell they are using that drains my resouces in basically 1 damn attack.

Poison?

If you use the in-game buff/debuff tracker or are willing to sacrifice yourself to take a quick look at your character menu with the debuffs, you can probably figure it out yourself.

I don't believe there is any way to drain all of your resources before you cast anything. It is most likely lag. Sometimes when you die your resources show 0% but you can still run around for a couple seconds due to lag. I would guess you have already been killed and the animations just have not caught up.

Can't. I get hit with something and then die. Usualy in a time span of just a few seconds. When I die the Debuff tracker goes away and I can't see what I'm getting hit with.

Is it always the same players? What campaign are you in?

I’ve had a couple of weird instances where resources dropped quick and I had no poison on me.

It could be the server calculating that you're dead, but because of latency (lag), you don't know it yet.

When you say it drains your resources, do you mean that they drop to zero? Or just that they lower.

There is a bug at the moment that when you are not at 100% stam/magica when you weapon swap your resource will actually go down every time you swap, add cost poisons to that and boom there you go.

Actually the more I think about it this could be the more likely explanation. On Xbox the lag and health Desyncs are so bad you will go from half health to 0 in less than a second.

And snipe is a very common cause

Look at your kill screen. It'll tell you. 99% sure it's snipe from stealth. It's bugged to hell.

@Most_Awesome how confident are you in this bug?

I also experience drain when I swap, but i haven’t been able to pinpoint the exact cause

I also bet its just the lag causing you to still be alove on your screen when actually dead. This mostly causes desyncs and false informations to you ressource bars.

I hope you both checked for passives/skills that influence resource pools. If they're uneven between bars due to those it causes a drop when you swap to the bar with less maximum resources.

This drop only happens once when you swap from the bar with higher stats to the one with lower. You cant drop lower than the maximum of your bar with lower stats by just doing so.

If you mean that your resource bars legit went from a high percentage to zero, it’s due to your character already being dead. You were Health desynced.... probably Sniped.

I just checked and when I weapon swap I have a 19 stam difference, Ive just checked some recordings and it seems to be I lose a regen tick when I swap, just gona edit the vid and ill post it here

Just to add its not every weapon swap but from regaining a full bar and constant weapon swapping it happens 2/3 times

A regen difference doesnt cause differences or drops in ressources, since regen differences are pretty comon stuff. 17k stam difference is pretty mucb impossible without anything done by you. Only death in laggy situations seems to be an answer.

What we're talking about is a bug.

You might be on to something, you definitely miss a regen tick (1694 stam regen by the looks of it) at those timestamps.

Is it related to weapon swapping or does that happen while using skills as well? Also it doesn't seem like you're block canceling when swapping so that can't be the culprit.

Also worth checking: are you holding sprint key when swapping?

In any case, looks like a pretty nasty bug & probably deserves its own thread :P

I noticed it the other day, I was moaning on discord with my mate why my stam was seeming to go from 100% to 0, I play only on Sotha and I have to weapon swap like mad or die when in combat, so add in the cost of skills and losing 2/3 regen ticks when I shouldn't would explain why it feels like it does.

He was also the one who told me about the weapon swap thing so its not just me

Me and a friend noticed a bug last month were our magika would just start draining bit by bit mid fight even if we weren't casting anything, haven't had it happen in awhile so im guessing they patched it. Should add it only happened when fighting vs a magika dragonknight.

We even tested it by having 1 person heal the other while the magdk just went though his rotation on him and we noticed at some point in that rotation our magika would just start draining a few K even when standing still and not casting, but the abilitys by themselves just casted 1 at a time slowly never made it happen. Just when they were being combined in that magdk's rotation.

This was about a month ago and it hasn't happened or haven't noticed it again so I am guessing it was patched.
