They will not give a seperate code for Morrowind if you already own it. Morrowind is included for a limited time with PURCHASE of Summerset ONLY IF you dont already own it.

They want your friend to buy their own copy of Summerset+ Morrowind. That is how the company makes money. They sell 2 copies and you get to play both Summerset and Morrowind with your friend.

Can't explain it any more succinctly than that. If you can't understand it then I don't know what else we can say to help you understand.

i understand what they want.. but that is not what i want. so what is the harm in trying? confused~~

if my friend really like this they would have bought morrowind and summerset when they first release. the truth is, eso is not the only mmo on the market, nor is it the best. i get several of them to buy the standard game, but fail to keep all of them continue playing. a free morrowind code might encourage several of them to pre order summerset. so we have enough morrowind code for everyone~~~~ it is a win win situation right? ZOS get more purchase, and we get all friend in morrowind together.

    Not going to happen

then what is the harm in trying?

exactly the same as the harm in pointing out that it's not going to happen.

if you're trying, though, you're doing it wrong. you posted to the forums about this and this is where forum posters point out that ideas are silly. if you want to score a free Morrowind key you should be talking with an ESO salesperson ;)

are you god? or employee of ZOS hired to handle forum? if the answer is no, then who are you to tell other the way they should approach game related matters?? am not breaking any rule am i?

p.s. doing so will benefit me and it will benefit ZOS. they get more sale, i might keep my friend in eso. so.. why are you against it? did i ever ask for your opinion? i don't think so~~~ if you are just another doomsayer, then you already had you share here. you are free to spread your poison else where =)

How does ZoS get more sales if they give a free additional copy instead of getting 2 purchases.

It's basic math. 1 purchase with a free copy does not equal 2 purchases. They actually lose money. This is not a 2 for one sale.

There is no guarantee your friend will purchase summerset if he/she gets a free copy of Morrowind. They just get to freeload Morrowind until they finish it and leave.

because morrowind alone is not enough, they still need the base game. correct? as for people who never bother to get any expansion. getting them to morrowind might pull them back to the game.. if they still don't plan to play the game there is nothing to lose. and if they do, they will most likely spend money here.

p.s. all in all, if they don't play the game even if zos give them 100k crown it is still meaningless. plus am not asking for anything free. buy summerset get morrowind, if they hand out a morrowind code to people who already own morrowind. they they will have this extra code they could gift to people. to encourage them to buy the base game or existing player to try the new chapter and get back to the game.

then what is the harm in trying?

Because you're wasting a lot of time, effort and stress for nothing. The packages are already made. They do not include seperate Morrowind codes.

If the only way to get your friends into the game is with a free copy, it's unlikely they will make addtonal purchases.

Have any of them played during the free weekends? If they did and that did not convince them to purchse, a free copy won't either.

if you don't reply i wouldn't have waste so much time.... you know...you are not doing any good here telling me that i shouldn't even try.

p.s. i get several of them to buy the base game, they play for a while and thought it was moderate at best. handful of them get morrowind but they didn't really play. since most of them did not get morrowind. now they decide to wait a year and see if any good is coming. i doubt they are coming back next year.

Then a free copy of Morrowind is a huge loss for ZoS because your friends wont buy it or Summerset anyway. So you sitting here will not do any good either, you just want something for nothing.

Also, this is an open forum. You don't decide who can and can't post. If you dont want or can't handle people disagreeing with you and telling you things you don't want to hear, don't post in an open forum.

This idea of yours isnt new. We went through the exact same issue when Morrowind was released and include the base game. They didn't give out seperate codes then despite the outcry ablnd begging from the playerbase. It wont happen now, because ZoS doesnt agree that it is in their best interest to do so.

You actually think they will change that because you ask them to.....riiiighht

yea, thats why everyone who willing to pay for summerset and also like morrowind will buy it now. people who didn't buy? they probably already have morrowind waiting for summerset to goes on sale. or don't care enough to buy any of the new chapter. either way there may be some loss, but it very minor compare to the benefit gain. it is an mmo, the more people playing the more fun it get. i would be more then happy to have everyone to get summerset and morrowind free at release~~ and am perfectly fine with pre order it just to support the game.

dude, talking to a salesman was advice. you said you were trying to score a free keycode, so i tried to point out that the forum posters aren't able to grant you one of those, but maybe a salesperson would be able to.

we all get to post here if we buy the game. you can float your ideas and we can shoot them down. fair is fair; it's nothing personal.

and how would you know that? you do konw it is long distance call from other country.. right? might as well just buy another pre order for one of my friend. lol

all am trying to say is, telling me this is a waste or time or this wouldn't work. wouldn't actually do anything good.

p.s. also this is not just about me.. this is about around 20+ peoples.. if they are giving away second morrowind key. then i might be able get 10 of them to pre order summerset and the we have enough key to get everyone to morrowind. or if they give some sort of compensation i might encourage 5~6 of them to pre order summerset so i have someone to paly with at release.

how about for everyone who already own morrowind chapter get 1 month of free vip add to their account when pre order summerset? i mean it is not much, it also work as some sort of free trial, which may encourage more player into vip.. It also shows that ZOS care about veteran loyal player.........

Should you also get some sort of reimbursement or bonus when a game you bought at launch comes out with a new, cheaper bundle a year later? No?

Then why should you get one here?

one question. when you buy iphone 6 at release you pay more. but later on they have a promotion if you buy iphone 7 you will also get a free iphone 6. but this only apply to the user who don't already own iphone 6. as a owner of iphone 6 would you feel right to be placed on a disadvantage for buying their old product at release?

like i said they could give one month of free vip. or give us the code to the morrowind chapter. either will be fine.

    This is dumb, btw.

oh, but they already said that thing about if you already have Morrowind you don't get a second one, way back when the offer was announced. they have a whole marketing team; they probably weighed the pros and cons before the statement went out.

tolerance of ideas goes both ways, you know. we saw both proposal and dissent in this thread. i hope you don't go away feeling persecuted. feel free to look up how often i open up topics here; take it as a sign of your ballsiness if you like. i'm reluctant to commit to all the research and rigor necessary to convincingly defend a proposal here, because we have so many people more aware and attentive than me. on official forums, 95% of OPs are either target practice or pandering.

Because an old chapter gets added as a limited incentive to pre-order the next chapter?

Get over it. That’s how mmo’s Work. You’re not owed anything. No refunds, no free ESO+, no gestures of goodwill because as it turns out, this is not a wrong thing for them to do.

because they are giving out morrowind as part of the pre order. or they could give us a code for morrowind so we can gift to friend. we did bought morrowind the second time.. did we not?

p.s. one month of vip is way cheaper then the price of morrowind. even when it is on sale.

To the contrary, no, you did not buy it a second time. It is free as a pre-order bonus.

yea, you could argue that everything in the pre order bonus is free? but is it really free? if it is free can i get it without paying? really confused about the term "free", because usually it means you don't have to pay. when you pay for something, you don't usually call it "free". like when you buy pizzard, you get a box and some sauce along with it. are these free? if true, then wouldn't you complain if your pizza were delivered without them?

yea am really confused about how free work... please explain how free stuff work. especially we do have to pay for the bundle. it come with the bundle, but is it really free? if it is, please get everyone in game morrowind expansion, since it is "free"

true, but you'd have to listen to all the people claiming they heard it before too and they didn't get their dollars so it isn't fair ;)

the reason question is. does pre order come with morrowind. if yes, give us code. if no , then change the wording. if you are not giving us the code for morrowind then give us something else instead. is that too hard to understand?

like you are buying bread that come with free cheese. when the seller refuse to give your "free cheese" because you already have one. wouldn't you complain? like i said, either morrowind code so we can gift to friend. or give us something else to compensate for it.

At least pick an analogy that works. If you have Morrowind you can play it now. After Summerset drops guess what... you can still play Morrowind. With cheese you can eat one piece of cheese then eat another piece of cheese. With Morrowind there is no advantage to you having it twice.

Rebates and deals happen across the business spectrum to attract new customers. Cable television and phone companies offer a couple of free or discounted months for new customers. First orders at most online stores come with a discount that returning customers do not get.

Offering Morrowind is an incentive for new players to the game. The offering will attract more players to the game and that is good for the game. You should be happy they offer this package to new players as it will make the game you play better.

What is hard to understand is why you think you need something for free simply because other people are getting a package deal. A deal that is actually beneficial to you and every other person that plays the game.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

true, but you'd have to listen to all the people claiming they heard it before too and they didn't get their dollars so it isn't fair ;)

the reason question is. does pre order come with morrowind. if yes, give us code. if no , then change the wording. if you are not giving us the code for morrowind then give us something else instead. is that too hard to understand?

are you people really that boring? if you are only here to tell me to stop, i have give up on the last page, if you are just here to beat a dead horse, then lets us continue.

yes, some business tend to do that, does it make it right? there are still slavery over the world, does that make them morally correct? True, Zos may do what they like, and most likely they will ignore my request. but there is nothing wrong asking is there? unless, it is like that cable company in south park.. lol

p.s. am really confused. it seem people are really against other asking for stuff, even when they are asking for everyone. and the only reason they are given is some "other" company does it. so it make it OK, and morally correct. And it would be stupid for anything to go against it.................i know am a bit chaotic in nature, but are people on forum mostly lawful evil? or is there some other reason behind it?

    Why?

Zenimax holds the license and it is well within their purview to give away their product for free...even to people who already have it.

yea, you could argue that everything in the pre order bonus is free? but is it really free? if it is free can i get it without paying? really confused about the term "free", because usually it means you don't have to pay. when you pay for something, you don't usually call it "free". like when you buy pizzard, you get a box and some sauce along with it. are these free? if true, then wouldn't you complain if your pizza were delivered without them?

You seem to be confused about how free works. You can not buy something that is given for free. So no, you did not buy Morrowind a second time.

yea am really confused about how free work... please explain how free stuff work. especially we do have to pay for the bundle. it come with the bundle, but is it really free? if it is, please get everyone in game morrowind expansion, since it is "free"

    Nobody owes you anything

true, but i don't own you anything either~~

Nope, you can’t get the preorder stuff without paying, but if you wait long enough, you can get the game for the same price without the preorder stuff.

(That means the preorder stuff is free as a preorder promotion to get early sales.)

People that have businesses that have to deal with the public asking to get more for less or threatning with action if they are not given everything, are against topics like these.

What happened to good ol if you have to ask you cant afford it?

People live beyond their means these days and want from businesses to hand them everything for free.

Instead of asking for things to be given to you why dont you improve your income?
    Start by not playing games

my question is are pre order stuff free? would you be angry if you pre order but never get any of the pre order item? they are free right? so by your theory you shouldn't complain if you never get them.

p.s. at this point i don't really see your point. am not sure what you are trying to say. also that is the point for pre order. you get bonus for paying the full price. instead of wait and buy at discount price. so is it so wrong to ask for some sugar on top of our sweet?

p.s. am i asking for something free? if yes, then please do explain what am i asking for free. because from my point of view am asking for a better deal. it is called haggle. free is something to be given without paying. .. do not not understand the difference? you might want to check dictionary before you make falsely claim next time XD

No, you did not. You bought Summerset, and a free Morrowind came with it. If Morrowind didn't come with it, it would still be the same price, again, because it is given away for free.

You can choose anything associated with ESO that costs the same amount as the Morrowind that comes with Summerset as a gift.

I look at it this way. Give free Morrowind free, with pre-order....fine. For those that paid for Morrowind, offer an edition at a lower price to recognize those who purchased Morrowind. I do not have an incentive to purchase Summerset, now that I know with the next release it will be free, and I get 2 for 1. I have also looked at the pricing for those who purchased Morrowind (thus it's inclusion is a so what thing). The standard edition is $40. The collector's edition is $90, in my country. That extra $50 gives me a mount, a pet, a useless style, 3 emotes, and a memento. $50 for that? It's ridiculous. So, I am maybe willing to pay $40 for the standard edition, no way am I paying the amount for the Collector's given I can get 2 for 1 down the road.

For marketing, it makes sense to recognize the regular money payers in the game in some fashion. I'm not asking for something for free. Unlike those who are doing the 2 for 1 are getting, and I may very well become one of them.

I would pay for Summerset Collectors Edition, pre sale, not including Morrowind at a lower price than for those that are getting it. Somewhere between the 40 and 90 dollars......... like maybe $60. I've convinced myself in this post to wait and get a 2 for 1. Maybe even a 3 for 1..... See the point I'm making? Or not, but I've been a regular payer, and I love this game. I don't love this marketing set up. Standard Edition, 2 for 1, or even 3 for 1. What will it be.......... atm 3 for 1 is looking pretty good. That's a customer income loss to ZOS that they would have had with some kind of compromise in the pricing.

yea.. big marketing fail.. they rather focus on player who never spend in the game.(those with base game but no expansion) then to please people who pre order their stuff and spend good chunk of money already.. i guess they knew that we would spend the money even if we been treat poorly??

well, there's a lot more than just the one string theory, and none of them state that everything is possible. compared to the infinite possible configurations of the Calabi-Yau manifolds, the subset that could conceivably correspond with our most precise measurements is extremely small, for one thing.

but that's not your main point. the main point is we will accept any excuse whatsoever for a free month of ESO+!
(and also that quantum mechanics' Many-Worlds Theorem is not string theory.)
