Feedback: Future In-Game Limited Time Events (Remove RNG)

It's bad enough, ZOS, that you lock an awesome stamina recipe (Dubious Camoran Throne) behind a once-a-year event that runs for only 5 days, but did you also have to go ahead and schedule that event on a holiday weekend (with some players away for a few days for travel and family gatherings), and hide the aforementioned recipe behind RNG boxes?

Would it be so awful if players were simply rewarded the recipe for doing a quest? Why do items available from limited time events have to be RNG? I'm 0 for 27 thus far on attempts to procure Dubious Camoran Throne from jester boxes, and I'm starting to become as grumpy(duckling) as those festival downers who we are tasked to throw flowers at.

Please consider this feedback for future festivals:
- remove RNG boxes in favor of quest rewards
- consider holiday scheduling conflicts when planning the event

The jester festival is set around April Fools. Makes sense, eh?

But Easter is varied and has ranged from March to end of April. ZOS can't control an orthodox holiday that is all over the place while April Fools is ALWAYS the first of April.

If you don't want or can't spend the time farming RNG boxes for the recipe, you can spend a comparable amount of time farming gold to buy the recipe. It doesn't take too long to farm the cost of the recipe, and I'm sure there will be plenty for sale next week.

This, not an issue with boe items however wait until end of event before buying anything.

Start April 1st and make it how long, one day? There is anniversary event next.

Bad that they didn't started it earlier, like last year, though.

Do people just complain about everything now?

Yes, people do complain about festivals (supposed to be fun) that only last a couple of days (reducing the amount of time available to get items) while having all rewards be RNG based (further increasing the frustration, by only getting junk) resulting in them either needing to play a whole group of characters through the 3 quests for all days (during the easter weekend) in order to obtain a very good food recipe (with the alternative to buy it for 250-300k).

Instead of just having the recipe limited by rng, I think it would be much more enjoyable to obtain it through a fun questchain (which doesn't correspond to doing the same 3 quests for 20+ times)

People are overpricing it. I seen one on market for 500.000g , some for 250.000g and the most low on 150.000g.

Not sure anyone is crazy enogh to trow that much money in just for a title.

It wouldn't matter when they chose to have an event, some people are going to miss out.

Considering that most of the event center around a real world holiday I don't see how they would schedule around those.

Rng is part of the game the items you seek will be available to purchase from other players if you happen to miss the event.

Bottom line is they arent going to be able to please everyone all the time. Such is life.

But there are ways to improve upon what is in place, hence the point of the suggestions. The goal of the suggestions isn't to please everyone all the time. It's to make the festival more accessible to more people and less about the need to get lucky in such a short period of time.

The holiday timing is horrible on their part. I suspect they completely forgot and had to slide it in somewhere before the anniversary.

However, the RNG nature of the boxes has no bearing on your ability to earn the achievement. You can buy the recipe then use it and it counts just fine. You could make an argument that it might be too expensive for any given player to do it this way, but you remove all RNG so that part of the problem is solved. I'm already seeing it selling for under 100k in zone and probably much less if you shop around.

I may be in the minority but I like the RNG, especially with mechanics in place to permit you to still obtain these items if you miss out . I curse at RNG all the time and I often have to grind because of it but without it the desire to continuously play and grind would be gone. Ask the players on Destiny 2 how they like the game with no RNG on their weapons, most of them want it back and miss having a reason to grind. I certainly don't want this game to head down that path.

I played Destiny 2 for maybe 2 months, then got bored and got back on ESO. Having RNG is good to an extent. Inferno Moondancer staff RNG is not ideal. Moondancer waist RNG is ideal. :#
