true, but you'd have to listen to all the people claiming they heard it before too and they didn't get their dollars so it isn't fair ;)

the reason question is. does pre order come with morrowind. if yes, give us code. if no , then change the wording. if you are not giving us the code for morrowind then give us something else instead. is that too hard to understand?

like you are buying bread that come with free cheese. when the seller refuse to give your "free cheese" because you already have one. wouldn't you complain? like i said, either morrowind code so we can gift to friend. or give us something else to compensate for it.

eh, i was talking to the other guy with that one, trying to be funny.

to return to the topic, let's respond to my point about joining the team to get the free glove.

is it really free? there is no such thing as free stuff in the world. when you pre order you get these perk, they are included in the pre order price. am buying morrowind with summerset. and i want my morrowind code so i can gift to friend. is there anything wrong with the logic? or i don't get what i deserved just because i spend the bulk at release? does it make sense to you?

p.s. am not asking for anything free, am just asking for stuff i bought with my hard earn cash. is it so hard to understand?

i didn't say it was hard to understand. it is hard to see this the same way you do. i made an analogy above -- currently post#9 -- to illustrate the way i'm seeing this.

i think in your analogy, i would walk back to the cheese shelf and put my cheese back to get the cheese that's on offer. i wouldn't expect showing them a receipt for months-old cheese to do much good.

Well then. I demand all the free stuffs because I buy everything right away and I spend monies on the crown store and I have been subbed the entire time the game has been out on PC without missing a month. Just kidding. Just please keep working on the game and spend some of the monies to fix things that aren't working right and maybe hire a what the heck team to figure out why you can't seem to stabilize Cyro. Make it so.

I'm willing to bet zos would give you that one free month if they could wipe all mats, experience, gear, and achieves as well as motifs and collectibles you got from the last year of owning morrowind.

Wait, that's not fair? You shouldn't lose all the rewards you got for purchasing the expac at launch? So... what you're really saying is...

You were compensated for buying early compared to new arrivals?

how did you know i pre order morrowind at release? what if i bought morrowind only a week ago, does a week of playing time wroth the money?

like i said, if they are including morrowind with the pre roder of next chapter then they should give it to everyone who pre order it. not just people who did not pre order. if they are not giving us the code, then give something else instead. is that too much to ask?

    Yes.

If the basis of your argument is that you feel ripped off for purchasing morrowind only for it to go on sale later, sorry. That stinks. It really does and I can understand that.

But even if you bought morrowind a month ago, you have 3+ months of head start. That is your compensation.

I'm afraid I don't agree with the stance payment is not final. I'd dread companies saying the same, then charging me for coffee I didn't pay enough for ten days prior to their price hike.

oh.. it is not me, it is my friend. he is pissed off lol

i personally pre order morrowind and summerset at first moment possible~~~

like i said.. give a morrowind code so we can invite more new player to join the game. or give something else to compensate the purchase. otherwise am not sure if my friend will stay playing this game~~~

p.s. please remind me why is it bad to get a morrowind code so we can get more people to play this game?

huh? that doesn't make any sense. i have a cheese, if they are doing a bundle to sale cheese with bread. shouldn't i expect another piece of cheese with my newly purchased bread? though i don't need that second piece of cheese but i could always share it with friend. or we shouldn't get that second piece of cheese because we already have one?? confused

they are selling morrowind and summerset in a bundle. it is a limited time offer. now i bought this bundle, shouldn't i expect a extra morrowind that i could share with friend? if am not getting that second morrowind code, shouldn't i expect some other type of compensation??

edit: i have a even better idea.. give morrowind to everyone.. that will also solve the issue. just make morrowind free for everyone and there is no more problem.

hey man, it was your analogy. i'm just working inside of this hypothetical store you constructed to make the point.

you gotta meet the requirements of the offer, according to the one making the offer, in order to get the free things being offered. that's how stores work.

what is the requirement for this offer? did they say specifically that anyone who already own morrowind are not qualify for this deal?

Am ok with morrowind given free, but they are doing this to attract new player. right? then what is the harm for us to get a second morrowind code to encourage our friend to play this game? isn't that the same idea?

    or

they could make morrowind free for everyone.. which will nullify the entire question. if mororwind is given free to everyone, and no longer on sale, it have no value, therefor i can play morrowind with my friend.. and we are not losing anything from pre order summerset.

if they refuse to give a second code for morrowind, or make morrowind completely free for everyone. then morrowind still hold some value. then we demand compensation for our loss~~~ is it so hard to understand?

yeah, they did. this is from the website:
For a limited-time only, digital pre-purchases will also immediately receive full access to the Morrowind Chapter as a bonus.

The Morrowind Chapter contains the following:

    The zone of Vvardenfell
A unique story, where you must help the demi-god Vivec restore his lost power
    The Warden class
A unique Trial, Halls of Fabrication
    … and more!
Don't forget, while all pre-purchases receive the Queen's Bounty Pack, only digital pre-purchases receive ESO: Morrowind. Once the Summerset pre-purchase window has closed, you'll need to purchase the Morrowind Chapter separately if you wish to explore the home of the Dark Elves. Note that if you already own ESO: Morrowind, you will not receive an additional copy.

It's not a bundle. They're not selling "Summerset + Morrowind, $30". They're selling Summerset for $30, with a limited time bonus alongside it. When the limited-time offer is over, Summerset will still be $30, it won't be cheaper now that there's no Morrowind, mount, pet, etc.

(Kind of like, if I go to the store and buy something that's "buy one get one free", but don't actually put two of the item in my cart? I'll still be paying the full price for the first item.)

yea.. i wonder the same thing.. i just like to get a morrowind code so i can encourage my friend to play this game~~~ why this offer does not extend to my friend?

p..s am ok with morrowind goes entire free for everyone too.. that will also encourage them to play this game.

ok i might have miss that~~ but it still like to try to get another code for my friend =)

edit: one question.. if they refuse to give second morrowind code, make morrowind free for everyone, or compensate people who already own morrowind. then what is there to get everyone to buy summerset? i like to play new content with all my friend. some of them don't even have morrowind at this point.. when i talk about summerset they want to get summerset free along with next chapter. which means i might have to wait an entire year to play summerset with my friend. is this really good for ZOS? or player base?? who are you fighting for?

not at all! if you can talk a business into doing something they explicitly said they're not gonna do, i wish you the best. i was just explaining why it shouldn't be expected, because you were trying to make the case that it should be expected.

i was never against the idea; it sure would've been nice! they just already said it wasn't happening from the get-go. you admit that you missed that, so i cleared it up when you asked. if you do manage to land me a free month of ESO+ i'll be thrilled.

This happened the same way with the base game when Morrowind came out.

They will not give a seperate code for Morrowind if you already own it. Morrowind is included for a limited time with PURCHASE of Summerset ONLY IF you dont already own it.

They want your friend to buy their own copy of Summerset+ Morrowind. That is how the company makes money. They sell 2 copies and you get to play both Summerset and Morrowind with your friend.

Can't explain it any more succinctly than that. If you can't understand it then I don't know what else we can say to help you understand.

if my friend really like this they would have bought morrowind and summerset when they first release. the truth is, eso is not the only mmo on the market, nor is it the best. i get several of them to buy the standard game, but fail to keep all of them continue playing. a free morrowind code might encourage several of them to pre order summerset. so we have enough morrowind code for everyone~~~~ it is a win win situation right? ZOS get more purchase, and we get all friend in morrowind together.

Its not a win-win for ZoS if they are giving out one free extra code for one purchase instead of getting two purchases. If your friends are only in it for the free copy, they won't be in it to buy the game.

Sorry it's not what you want.

exactly the same as the harm in pointing out that it's not going to happen.

if you're trying, though, you're doing it wrong. you posted to the forums about this and this is where forum posters point out that ideas are silly. if you want to score a free Morrowind key you should be talking with an ESO salesperson ;)

Releasing Summserset without Morrowind features would make Summerset feel incomplete to new players, thus discouraging the purchase. Why would someone buy Summerset when their experience will be incomplete without another $40 purchase?

You need to realize this is a business. You paid for a product a year ago that you knew would be worth less one day. Stop whining for free stuff.

This reminds me of the study that found it is better to give someone one good gift than the same good gift plus a not so good gift. People feel like they got a better haul with just the one gift than if they got an additional mediocre gift.

    Apparently, 1 > 1 + 0.05.

So here we have people getting upset because there is a pre-order bonus they don't benefit from. Solution - buy the game when the pre-order period is over so that you don't get any bonuses.

Not really what he's saying, actually. He already has Morrowind, so he's not getting a free gift. People who don't have Morrowind yet obviously aren't complaining they are getting it for free.

If you can't understand it then I don't know what else we can say to help you understand.

i understand what they want.. but that is not what i want. so what is the harm in trying? confused~~

if my friend really like this they would have bought morrowind and summerset when they first release. the truth is, eso is not the only mmo on the market, nor is it the best. i get several of them to buy the standard game, but fail to keep all of them continue playing. a free morrowind code might encourage several of them to pre order summerset. so we have enough morrowind code for everyone~~~~ it is a win win situation right? ZOS get more purchase, and we get all friend in morrowind together.

    Not going to happen

then what is the harm in trying?

Because you're wasting a lot of time, effort and stress for nothing. The packages are already made. They do not include seperate Morrowind codes.

If the only way to get your friends into the game is with a free copy, it's unlikely they will make addtonal purchases.

Have any of them played during the free weekends? If they did and that did not convince them to purchse, a free copy won't either.

exactly the same as the harm in pointing out that it's not going to happen.

if you're trying, though, you're doing it wrong. you posted to the forums about this and this is where forum posters point out that ideas are silly. if you want to score a free Morrowind key you should be talking with an ESO salesperson ;)

are you god? or employee of ZOS hired to handle forum? if the answer is no, then who are you to tell other the way they should approach game related matters?? am not breaking any rule am i?

p.s. doing so will benefit me and it will benefit ZOS. they get more sale, i might keep my friend in eso. so.. why are you against it? did i ever ask for your opinion? i don't think so~~~ if you are just another doomsayer, then you already had you share here. you are free to spread your poison else where =)

how about for everyone who already own morrowind chapter get 1 month of free vip add to their account when pre order summerset? i mean it is not much, it also work as some sort of free trial, which may encourage more player into vip.. It also shows that ZOS care about veteran loyal player.........

Should you also get some sort of reimbursement or bonus when a game you bought at launch comes out with a new, cheaper bundle a year later? No?

Then why should you get one here?

There are actually single player games that give you a free upgrade, if you own an earlier version.

if you don't reply i wouldn't have waste so much time.... you know...you are not doing any good here telling me that i shouldn't even try.

p.s. i get several of them to buy the base game, they play for a while and thought it was moderate at best. handful of them get morrowind but they didn't really play. since most of them did not get morrowind. now they decide to wait a year and see if any good is coming. i doubt they are coming back next year.

How does ZoS get more sales if they give a free additional copy instead of getting 2 purchases.

It's basic math. 1 purchase with a free copy does not equal 2 purchases. They actually lose money. This is not a 2 for one sale.

There is no guarantee your friend will purchase summerset if he/she gets a free copy of Morrowind. They just get to freeload Morrowind until they finish it and leave.

i'm not doomsaying or spreading poison. i've been offering useful information and opinions. you asked for opinions when you opened your discussion to the forum population. and as i said, i'm not against you trying to score this. i would love it if you can get me a free month of ESO+
