Is it finally time to disconnect Imperial City from Cyrodiil PvP?

the wording on the title struck me as odd because it sounds like trying to remove the city from cyrodil :)

anyway. battlegrounds are there own queue / location, so can we get the same for IC?

whether your going there for pvp or pve (or a bit of both) its always been a pain to get to requiring you to enter a normal pvp server, get to the entrance (can be especially annoying if you don't own the nearby keep) and extra annoying because there is no way to tell the IC population from the overworld population.

can we just detach the doors from Cyrodiil and add in a few Imperial City Queue's to the alliance war section? (along with the super handy population bars)

the area itself is a great place for medium sized pvp and the zones themselves are very interesting, its such a shame they were implemented so poorly behind clunky mechanisms.

this would be a great gift to your pvp players with summerset.

    Yep, you should have the option to teleport straightly to the city rather than galloping through your alliance's entire zone to get there.

    It's amazing it hasn't happened yet because it should be relatively easy to do and would immediately improve both IC and Cyrodiil.

    I seem to recall @ZOS_BrianWheeler indicated it was planned at one point, but I can't find the reference and it was so long ago that their plans may have changed.

    At the very least it needs to not be tied to a specific campaign and not count towards the population cap of any of the campaigns.

    It's been fairly active in IC lately. Lots of people farming Tel Var stones for new storage containers.

    I like the fact that they are connected. The point is that the city is cut off via the bridges and you have to enter the sewars to get there. It's not that freaking long to ride there if your alliance doesn't own the closest keep.

    I think holding districts in IC should contribute to the overall score. I also think they need to add more valuable and desirable things to the tel var merchants. That is why the zone is empty.

    99% of the zone is pvp, if you took away the safe zones then you would be promoting spawn camping. No thank you.

    Imperial City should be its own instance.

    Combine all the separate ones into one instance, increasing the population to full.

    Make the bosses in the sewer give just as much telvar as top side bosses to encourage battles in the ENTIRE zone.

    Make it Non-CP to discourage immortal Zerg group play.

    Im torn on the topic. On one hand, I think IC is integral part of the Cyrodiil and Alliance/Daedric war mythos however, Its getting pretty old (in regards to the Shor campaign) to see large groups of DC and AD topside, and there be 3 bars of EP but they are literally all in IC.

    It's misleading and ties up "server slots".

    So in that regard, yes I'd like to see it separate from Cyrodiil. It makes more sense given that IC has its own load screen AND its paid DLC so base game owners cant even access it yet it affects base game owner's campaign populations. .

    I would love a PVE IC but if one was implemented without some restrictions, everyone would farm telvar or grind there instead so I would suggest that for a PVE IC, there should be no telvar drops and maybe 50% less exp from mobs but quests should still reward the same exp as normal. This keeps the PVE version just for those who want to do the quests without the fear of getting ganked every three seconds

    What's annoying about IC at the moment is that you can no longer leave a character there. If you log out in IC (or in Cyrdiil) you log back in to the game at your last location outside of Cyrodiil even if the campaign you were in is empty.

    Before that only happened if the campaign was full.

    So you could leave one of your characters there and log on to them when you wanted to continue working on whatever that character was doing regardless of how much time you had. Now you need to block off a chunk of time to make the trip worth it.

    Should be removed entirely from the Cyrodil campaigns and be accessible via a PvE and PvP version.

    I still think some campaigns should trigger access in the ways they do but that's for player choice.

    Cyrodil needs to have a PvE non-campaign version but more of being broken into 3 parts for PvE only (still keep the PvP versions tho) and in a background sim that resets a few times daily, each PvE faction should be able to go in and play a castle siege with other players and NPCs to gain access to Imperial City.

    I just think that makes sense......

    Within Imperial City, you would keep the way it works for PvP and perhaps also have a PvE version but major adjustments need to apply

    People seem to read PvE version of Cyrodil and create some other concept.
    PvE as in today when you're not in Cyrodil.....there are NPCs that you fight. The same would apply in a PvE version of Cyrodil, it would be more akin to Imperial City experiences minus other players...which would actually make more sense because no one has an account locked by factions whereas being at war with the same NPCs prior to One Tamriel made sense.

    Yes please!!! I would spend so much more time in IC if I didn't have to slog through Cyrodiil every time I wanted to go there.

    It's been far too long since they gave an update to the pvp in this game, so this would be a nice idea.

    long overdue actually...not sure what reasons zos has had for not making this happen already...

    also, it would be key to the vitality of Imperial City if we were allowed to rez at any friendly alliance platform within the city...

    make IC a free for all once again and breathe some much needed life back in to the city...

    environment wise - pvp is a blast in and around all the structures located in IC...

    I think there is a lore argument to keep them together. It's a cool idea, no question. I think the logistics, however, favor separating the two. If there is even the smallest chance that separating them could improve server performance, then for the love of Vivec, please give it a try.

    Oversight back when they *** out to pve pressure and had to make last second changes to appease them.

    It used to be that you needed to PvP the keeps in order to access IC, but that got changed.

    Not true. Just last Saturday/Sunday I was farming in IC sewers. Would quit the game and come back hours later to the same spot in IC sewers.

    On the topic of thread: I like the horse ride to IC, makes it feel isolated. However I do support them being separated because the pop of IC should not count against the pop of Cyrodiil.
