Hey guys
For this thread I want to summon all templars, who are helping in forums to provide information about bugs, who try to make templars better, who give advice in the helping sections and all templars helping to make this game better.
@Cinbri , @Joy_Division , @Minno and many more, please everyone summon all templars, who are active in the forums and do relevant work in here.
(sorry for not listing any stamplars here, but everyone is welcome to summon more people to this thread)
I would like to bring us together and talk about the topic of the class representatives.

I assume some of you already got some votes for them going as class representatives, same goes for me too. For me it doesnt matter, who this representative will be, more important for me is, that we all work together to make ESO a better game. The class representative should gather all those informations from the forums, make a compilation with suggestions how to fix bug problems and work to a better balanced system. To be able to do this, this representative needs the help of all of us templars. I know that many of you already did damn a lot of work, @Cinbri always tests a lot when new major patches are coming. @Joy_Division has great insight, makes good posts about problems regarding templars and also @Minno keeps being active in the forum with a lot of helpful advice. At this point I want to thank you for the work you all have done and I hope we keep this up to support the coming class representative.

Once again, it doesnt matter who this representative will be, neither me or you, I want you all to work together for this guy, so he can be as much of help as possible, when the class representatives come together. He doesnt have to do all that work alone, I want this representative to rely on us to get feedback about bugs, improvements, nerfs, about everything we can provide.

This thread surely is not only about templars and I hope everyone will support all representatives as much as possible.

I am happy to have this opportunity to be able to help the game getting better and I am happy to see you guys continuing your work for this community.

Hope you feel like me and you enjoy this game as much as me.

Good post. I know Joy Division has specified they don't know stamplar as well, I've no idea about the other two.

For some helpful insight, there is one huge problem with stamplars. One I know Joy has discussed is ***ing repentance.

I get that it can be situationally strong. In pvp it is feast or famine, and in maelstrom it is more of the same. The biggest, #1 stamplar complaint I have is that my stamina management utility is not useful at all times and huts teammate sustain. When would dark deal not restore resources? Leeching strikes even gives a tiny, but physically present amount of stamina. You trade magicka for stam on dks, using ult also restore something. Warden netch and green balance passives are ticking.

Repentance is the only stamina management skill in the game (unless I missed one?) that is number dependent, situation dependent, and to be blunt useless in single target fighting. This kills not only solo open world pvp stamplars (gl finding a corpse when 1vXing), but when grouped it creates a headache too (bash the rez, or ensure you have stam to do something afterwords because templar number two is greedily eyeing that corpse).

This also hurts templar tanking. A huge part of endgame tanking is managing stamina to block the big incoming hits. Leeching isn't terrible here, but yes requires a great deal of foresight. Warden netch, supreme (gives ult, heals if multicasted, and stam back over time), dark deal works great if you can time it, if not it is down to using it during shield wall, and DKs main defensive move (health based shield and maj mending) also restores a decent 990 stamina.

And as I said to begin with, no matter what you think if its potency it cannot continue to prevent other players from using their class based stamina return. Imagine if dark deal, helping hands, battle roar, warden netch, or leeching strikes too the first cast of it in a group and then did not allow anyone else to cast, even friendlies? There would be just cause for irritation.

I don't care *who* gets in as a rep, but for the love of the Aedra we all apparently worship, PLEASE put a bug in zos' ear about this.

Magic:

1. Change all healing back to how it was originally prior to Morrowind nerfs for PvE

The developers really need to seperate PvP from PvE cause and effects.
Bitting jabs needs the larger healing added back too for PvE

Sorry it was in general rather than the Templar build section under player guides in the forums.

I'm super happy to see more posts about other classes on these forums. Looking at all the nightblade posts was hilarious at first but it's getting tiresome.

My main is now a Warden, but I actually miss playing Templar.

Love what they've done with the unstable core morph of eclipse. I'd like to see this used more often. I'd totally use the crap out of this ability in PVP if I were a Templar.

In my opinion, after playing both Warden and Templar healers, Templar healing noticeably easier. Is it intended to be so oversimplified?

My favorite heal is healing ritual but sadly I didn't use it much because It's easier to get the job done with other abilities. Does anyone else ever slot this? Seems like a wasted ability kind of like Warden's arctic wind.

Magplar already have good defense atm, it is just lack dmg. I don’t support bring back major mending, i think javelin is the skills need buff, it should give something like minor main.

I dont want to discuss very much in this thread. Its here to provide awareness, that we all need to work together and support those representatives. I want all those people joining the thread to bond together, so we can work together more in the future. I just want to hear from those guys, how they feel about it and if they agree with what i stated.

The only problem Templars have now is weak dps compared to other classes, and that makes them unwelcome in vet trials as dps. They only pride itself as healer, nothing else. You wanna know what Templar s problems are? Just take it through vma to test it. And then do a vma with pet sorc, then you’ll know there’s serious class balance issues.

Eventually I think a thread like this will be needed.

No matter who ZoS chooses as rep (and this goes for all the classes), it's going to be really difficult for them to encompass all the aspects of game-play. Templars heal, they DPS, they PvE, they are primarily group support in PvP, they (try) and solo PvP, and then there are "stamplars", which play quite differently. That's quite the cross section. And even in areas where reps may have solid expertise, they still should seek out the perspectives of others because there is always more than one way to skin a daedra (the thought of skinning cats makes me ill, probably because I have a pet kitty

).

It might be worthwhile to wait until Gina and ZoS give us more information about the rep program. At least in the main thread, I think some people are overestimating exactly what role the reps will have. It seems to me they are more a vehicle for communication of things that are frustrating rather than a source of balance suggestions. So perhaps will have a more focused discussion with what ZoS is looking for.

I like your passion about Templars, if you know it well you should be nominated.

Templar is my main, played both stam mag PVE and PvP over 2 years daily on it.

Yea definitely wait, as Joy said.

Though I will add, for you, that I am going to switch gears and go stamplar for a bit. Haven't done that in awhile and my current magplar build is decent enough to leave alone till next patch. Hopefully that let's me add stamplar experience for any discussions we will have.

As soon as we know more about the program, we can open up such a thread, where we discuss templar problems in detail. I am totally up for that and i will be happy to contribute as much as i can.
I know that vmsa is easier on sorc, but i actually do not care about this too much. I rather care about the fact, that most pve raids take sorcs or nbs with them into trails. I absolved vAS HM with my guild as magplar dd and yeah, sometimes my guild does it without me, because my dps is a bit lower than others. Still many guildmates appreciate it, when i am part of the group, because i help them out with shards to sustain better or to get a moondancer proc.

Templar Tank.

I'd like some low cost AoE CC please. Its impossible to keep trash from murdering your dps. Honestly its actually harder to tank normals than vets because your Dps's suck and get murdered by the trash.

i think a charged ice staff is a very good option for templar tanks. elemental blockade with an ice staff provides snares and roots. but a lot of people hope, that we will find a new root or cc ability in the psychic skill line coming with summerset, which helps out on every non dk or non warden tank. additionally elemental blockade provides a good uptime from your weapon enchant, can help you get magicka back via elemental drain and provides nice block and tank passives. since templars have a unique magicka return from rune focus, its even worthy to block with magicka via icestaff.

Syrabane set + ele drain+ rune and enough block cost reduction, you'll actually block better with mag than with stamina

But that's selfish tanking.

Still ice staff can be used in the meta setup too, since alkosh only needs to be complete on one bar. You just need to make sure to use synergies only on the snb bar, where alkosh‘ last boni is active.

So; the representatives should not only give thier own view on the class, but add in other people's opinion & data, and this can be gathered via specific threads.

I agree , and I think this idea should be expanded in a 'megathread' where people start with 'voting' on their class in a poll, and then voice their idea/opinion/gathered data in a comment.

This would allow the representatives to easily define 'pain points', not only in their own class, but from other classes as well, without scouting the entire forums. As I've said before, I think it's important that the representatives don't only look at their own class/playstyle, but realise the consequences their ideas have on the rest of the game.

One megathread would also prevent nb mains with 10 hours of sorc experience to come ask for sorc nerfs on a sorc thread and vice versa. Comments would be made about their main class, and thus would be backed up as best as possible.

Such a thread would best be made by zos, in order to prevent personal arguments & drama. Was suprised the official representatives thread didn't contain any of that.

Artic Winds is incredible and the damage morph/heal scales with health. That’s 4K minimum on most tanks for around 2.5k magika, and before any healing received, and it can Crit and/or pass onto another party member. Also, because of Warden Passives the cold damage (non healing morph) automatically applies AOE maim—while you move even!!!

What’s not to love about that skill? When people look at a tanking line and QQ about there not being enough damage (not you, but a common complaint about that line), or that X ability doesn’t do such and such, I’m left scratching my head.

If you’re not using this skill, you really should be.
