I'm never excited for DLC for this game because it just means they will think of more ways to lower overall group DPS.

I was excited for years until they announced it. After seeing the best they could come up with for Summerset was yet another medieval European landscape (as if we didn't have enough of those in Tamriel already), I kinda stopped caring.

I'm one of those people who play games for atmosphere, exploration and story as much as gameplay. Everything we've seen so far, outside of artaeum, has been so damn bland. I can get a better version of this place in almost any other fantasy MMO.

I'm interested for the first time in the 'chapter' am interested to see what it will bring but I'm more excited for jewelry crafting. There's tons of builds that I wanted which were limited due to now having enough slots for the effect to take place 100%.

Well, I can't be pumped for it as a DLC as it is not a DLC. It's a Chapter. Which is like a DLC that costs more because reasons....

not really, was looking forward to crystal buildings, but i guess they messed them up, and i'v been really wanting a two man arena, i just dont really have fun in the 12 man trials anymore, it just feels more like work than a game. jewelry system sounds really cool though.

No I am not. Why , because ZOS has a history of releasing buggy content even after the content has been tested on the PTS and problems reported to them. In addition, normally their new content also causes game performance issues.

I am really trying to be excited, but these forums are making it very difficult.
Sure, I wish they had gone a different route for the architecture on Summerset, but it isn't ugly, and Artaeum looks wonderful.

I hate to be that guy, but i started with MMOs 18 years ago, when it was all subscription based, and you paid for every expansion, and the forums were a helpful and positive place to chat with other people who enjoyed the game you all played.
The ESO forums are just so negative, and pessimistic, and judgmental and most of all entitled, that it makes it really difficult to be excited for something with everyone screaming about how disappointing the new content is and how Zenimax is the devil.
I know not everyone is like this, but even this thread, meant to garner some goodwill, gets hijacked by the disenfranchised.

So yeah, I am stoked. Played Altmer characters since TES III, and even though Summerset buildings dont look quite how I imagined them, I am really excited to go home, as it were, and see what it all looks like in person.

I preordered but wouldn’t say I am excited. I know the big nerf hammer is coming to trash all my hard work again, so it’s a little difficult to be excited about that. Sorry if I am not vacant eyed with a smile glued to my face about it.

Im somewhat but I really want to see some new ideas to the game. New activities, objectives ect. Pvp needs some love too. Overall, im glad its going to be a huge zone

Yes I am. I can't wait to see the rest of it because I know we got such a small portion of the island in the trailers. Despite some people putting down Summerset I think it looks pretty close to what I thought it'd look like. Some things are off of course but not enough to make me go crazy.

ESO does good stuff, but there's usually an underlying 'meh' factor somewhere. So, my excitement is blanketed by a layer of cynicism. But, no doubt it'll be pretty.

I will play it at some point, but not preorder. I'll wait a few months until it comes on sale to buy it at about half the current price.

I could not hold myself from pre-ordering, so I have pre ordered the collectors edition now, (even though that price is steep) at least on the first few days when the game is going to be laggy, and crowded with people in summerset I can stare at the statue and read Razum-dar's journal.

Though yes I am excited for the story, and game. I am not excited for the lag and the fact that PVP seems to be staying the same for now.

Tbf, you'd be hard pressed to find many gaming forums that weren't full of gripes with some toxicity sprinkled over the top for good measure nowadays.

You are absolutely correct on that.

I will choose to try and remain optimistic and to enjoy the content being provided. At the end of the day, I am excited for Summerset, it's just such a shame it has to be tempered with disappointment with the community.

This. I swore off buying it until it went on sale when the Outfit slots turned out to be ridiculously overpriced. Nothing in the trailer has changed my mind about that; in fact it looks like it's going to be easier than I thought. Too much about it looks bland - pretty, I'll grant you, but bland.

It also has the added bonus that by the time I get around to playing all the crowds will be gone.
