Sooo, im no pro, though i played the game for quite a long time, i still only got one past 50 character, its an argonian nightblade. I leveled him trough questing, hes pretty much maxed in every skill line. i did some normal and vet dungeons tanking on him, currently i just play pvp but recently i wanted to come back to pve, im not really interested in leveling a new character but i can't figure out if there's any role he would be able to complete vet trials in. The reason i sorta stopped pve'ing in the first place was because i got tired of dungeons, i did pretty much every dungeon on vet, i will ofcourse do some dungeons before attempting trials so i can get the grip of it and also to get some gear. but the role im interested in is not required to be good in dungeons, many of the same "rules" still aply though, i think. I know argonian is not great for damage, so im thinking healer or tank, but i also know they aren't that good there, only in a very few cases atleast. HALP!

Although Argonian is better at healer or tank the Nightblade isn't, they can work but for most trials groups (especially if you wish to move up to veteran) people will want stronger classes.

You would do fine as a Magicka DPS character, you won't do as much damage as a fully specialised class but if you spend the time getting gear and practising rotations you should be fine.
You'll also have the advantage of slightly higher HP than a normal optimal race meaning you can drop off the health from food and focus on more magicka/magicka regen food for damage.

Same theory would apply to stamina DPS but you won't get the 3% bonus from the Argonian (every little helps)

You will also be able to take advantage of the healing/healing received when using Swallow Soul/Funnel Health.

I play a Dunmer Nightblade as my main and mostly stick to Alcast's builds, he normally has some entry level information within his builds. Main thing for Magicka Nightblade is getting good with keeping your damage over time abilities up and getting light attacks in-between every skill, as both the Nightblades sustain skill (syphoning attacks) and one of their damage skills (merciless resolve) require light or heavy attacks to function.

    Argonian, yep, go Magic.

Take advantage of the inherent Crtical strikes of the class and use 5 Piece Julianos (crafted) and some other set that helps with either Spell Damage or Spell Crits. Mother's Sorrow is one that comes to mind for Crits, see the list linked below for other ideas. Or you could go Willpower Jewelry and 2 Piece Torugs Pact. Scathing Mage would also be a good set, but you have to farm Imperial City Prison for that.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I will check alcast out later today, im pretty confident with weaving light attacks for merciless resolve so that wont be a huge problem, thanks a ton.
