Nord Armor Style not Available on a Nord Character

Frankly I am quite puzzled. I've been collecting mats and trying to craft gear all day and have found it impossible to make anything at all. I understand that I need to learn the other racial styles in order to craft items using those styles... but for my own race, really? I found a reference saying this:

"All races can innately craft items in their style..."

When I open the blacksmithing interface I find that even the Nord style must be learned before I can make anything. The upshot is that I cannot craft anything at all since I've not found *ANY* of the racial books.

Is this working as intended?

Do you have the style material? Aside from standard mats like iron, jute etc. you need racial materials for crafting. Blacksmiths sell them, you can also extract them from items or find randomly. IIRC Nords need corundum.

@Rosveen thank you for that. That was the last piece of the puzzle that I needed to break through. It did not compute that I would still need the style token for my own race. All is well!!!
