Patch v3.3.10, what a joke

For people asking: it’s about six weeks of testing for each patch, and Summeret launches on the 21st, seven weeks from now. Ergo, PTS can’t be far away. Two weeks at most. Personally, I think it’s coming next week. At latest end of next week.

We’re getting PTS next week or so. Hold your derision in check till we see the real changes.

We'll be starting our next PTS cycle closer to mid-April, not next week.

I would assume that’s coming in the two weeks before now and PTS.

Ah hah hah. Khajiit she likes the jokes.

The merry feeling as the belly fur it ripples with happiness yes.

The elf who walks into a bar and drinks with the argonian yes.

But Khajiit has no rippling belly fur no.

Did the stuff walk into a bar and drink with the issues? Khajiit does not get this one.

You do know that bugfixes take varying amounts of time, right? There's some bugs that take hours to fix, some that take months.

As an example, in a recent ESO Live show, Wroebel confirmed the fix for Warden's Netch beam being visible in stealth was impossible to do quickly, because of the new particle systems used with Warden.

To fix it, ZOS had to purchase new tech and incorporate it into the engine. Which likely took hundreds of hours of work, and thousands of dollars. Very few developers make their own engine, and often just buy tech from specialized studios. (Why reinvent the wheel, when you can just buy a wheel?)

    Hi!

ESO has a lot of issues, you'll find them all over the forums, I'm not going to list stuff again. And you're really
only fixing an issue regarding purchasing stuff? What a joke...

I don’t know what other people were running into, but for my wife, after buying summerset, every time she tried to open her inventory the ui error came up. It only lasted a day, but the game was unplayable. If that was widespread, it an essential fix and not a “purchasing stuff” issue. The 1 crown housing cost was a purchasing stuff issue.

I agree they have a lot to fix, but this was very necessary and an immediate need.

I understand that is the client side, but they are only fixing the issue you stated above, and the downtime seems excessive for such a small fix.

You have to love today's consumers. They are experts on every aspect of every business they frequent. How long have you been a world class expert on updating servers worldwide for a cross-platform title?

Oh, you've never done that before in your life? Well glad to see you providing such expert-level commentary then.

Cyro is still crap. Both system and playstyle.
PvE is still BiS meta for end game.
You cant even play the class you want if you want to be a part of a trial group

These are all extremely valid points and my largest criticisms of the game as well.

I am hopeful some of this stuff gets addressed.

Taking a portion of a reply and trying to use it out of context ... well done.

For a worldwide cross platform title, no I haven't. For a large engineering firm, a mining company, a supermarket and an extremely large software company, several times over.

I am en expert, since I have the education, certification and experience in various fields of I.T including Systems Administration, Network Engineering and Programming (several languages).

How long you asked, since 1997 so going on 21 years.

the last 2 maintenances have been really quick (less than 3 hours) so not sure what the problem is this time.

Half an hour is quick. Hour or 2 is OK. 3 hours is NOT quick. I suppose, people can get used to anything, but such long downtimes are not fine for weekly maintenance. I wouldn't complain, if every time I tried to play ESO after maintenance, the game was smooth and bug free. But this is not the case. We get these long downtime periods, and still sometimes they mess up updates.

Sure doesn’t seem like much time for a PTS cycle, especially for a major release like a chapter. It’s about the same length of time that you allocate for a DLC and they are not nearly as big or complex.

    after buying summerset
    not a “purchasing stuff” issue

    you don't see the contradiction?
    but the game was unplayable

which probably stopped a lot from pre-ordering until the issue is fixed and as a result it was fixed quick.
