!. granting the huge amount of skill points all the sky shards grant to any ne lvl 1 character rolled is doubtful to interest Zos for what should be obvious reasons.
2. this one is much clearer, granting a fully leveled mage guild line to every lvl 1 character is 100% a bad idea. OMG, lol, below 50 cyrodiil would be no place for a new player when much of the field would have meteor on the first day the character is rolled. Not to mention some of the other skills and passives.
Why don't we just sell instantly maxed characters in the crown store. That would solve the issue you are facing. Win/win situation. We get it so easy it is boring and Zos makes some bank. 25k crowns each.

There is an addon for that and you dont even need to discover locations first. In fact addons significantly enhance gameplay so much i would never dream of playing this game on console. Skyshard, lore book, quest locations...harvestmap, awesomeguildstore, mastermerchant, craftstore, TTC... i could go on. I cant imagine playing the game without all those addons that make the game much more bearable.9 -

Also, not every single character NEEDS to have all skill points available. For most you're perfectly viable if you get the skill points you need for your build/any extras you want like crafting or thieving or etc instead of literally every skill point available in the game. So while my main has everything on my alts I just go unlock skyshards til I have enough to get everything I want and then I stop.
Spending time on alts preparing, leveling, gearing, collecting skyshards and lorebooks, etc, adds to the game's lifespan. Every MMO in existence encourages grinding for this reason and many people love playing alts. I would find the game extremely dull if everything was shared account wide. Not going into how broken it would be to start a new character and have a plethora of skill points, finding the lorebooks is tied to the Mage Guild skill line. If you have them all at the beginning, you'd either start with a maxed skill line (just as broken as having all the skyshards, if not more) or you wouldn't be able to level the skill at all. Either way, it's a dumb idea.13 -

Skyshards... eh... maybe? But, I'm not convinced. Skyshards represent 135 skill points total. To be fair, on a lowbie alt, there's not a lot you can do with that at first, but still.
I mean, it would be nice. Give us the option to buy a furnishing with vouchers that allows you to absorb the skyshards you've collected on alts, with a prereq of Tamriel Skyshard Hunter to even buy the firnishing in the first place? Sure. Though, restricting it to level 50 alts only would probably be a wise decision.
Lorebooks, no. Just, no. That one's a bad idea.3 -

Hunting skyshards on alts just is not fun, at least for me.14 -

And we had to lick the road clean.So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.5 -

If you want maxed mages guild, go book hunting.
If you want all those skill points, grab those shyshards.
If you play an alt, you it again, or it ain't done.
If you want it enough, you will spend the effort.
If you don't feel like spending the effort, do without.

Also, if anything, the people at ZOS -might- sell it in the crown store as "convenience" item. One region worth of skyshard grabs, 1500 crowns! One alliance worth, 5000 crowns! One lorebook collection, 2500 crowns. All lorebooks, 10000 crows! Per character, just like the riding lessons!
Still look like a good idea, peeps?
I know I will be patient and never ever spend anything on a crown riding lesson. And I would put in the effort to go book and shard hunting rather then pay for a shortcut.
If you were willing to pay, keep on posting.
But that's not the case now, is it?
The people agreeing here want it for free, right?
So they can "finish" the game and complain how there is nothing to achieve anymore, and move on to the next game.

Spending days running around clicking on books and rocks isn't "playing" for me and many others. After doing it once, I have no desire to do it again. The boring grind is one reason I won't be playing much longer.

It’s not ‘free’ is already collected... and no running about grabbing the same lore books and skyshards over and over again isn’t playing for me, it’s a dull grind.18 -

The skill points themselves not so much, but lore books, level 1 go to mages guild, join up, boom meteor in you pocket.
