Jewelcraft weapon idea: "Focusing Crystal"

"Focusing Crystal"
Takes cloth or leather and gems, maybe some metal for a place to set the gem.
They'll basically just be small crystals that sit in the palm of your hand, strapped in place with cloth or leather. Your character would wield it the same way they normally wield spells in single player ES games.
The crystals would work like staves do. Light attack fires a small bolt, with heavy attack either firing a large bolt, or in the case of resto and lightning: a stream. Only your character would look like they're shooting them out of their hands. And heavy attacks would restore magicka.
Active abilities could be taken from ES games.
Like Flames, Firebolt, Ignite, Fireball, Incinerate, etc... as well as the frost and shock versions of each.

...and this idea of mine would give us way more to work with. Not the "empty hand magic" feel from single player games, but... come on, racial style spell foci???
There is so mich roleplaying goodyness in there!
A librarian-sorceror casing their spells from a spellbook, a priest-templar casting healing from a holy symbol, a shaman-warden casting nature magic from a totem rattle, a bloodmage-nightblade casting siphoning spells from a voodoo doll...
