Abyssal geysers

I for one am slightly disappointed with the summerset announcement,I was expecting a little more,but maybe we'll hear some more over the next couple of weeks. This abyssal geyser we have no info on could be more what I was looking for,some kind of new pve event. What do you guys think it is?

It's probably similar to either dolems or craglorn group events.

My take is that it's a new group dungeon ... something Morrowind did not have by the way.

They sound like dolmens, and I'll be honest, right now they are the most interesting feature in this "chapter" to me.
If they are like dolmens but hard, they'd be perfect.

Maybe they could be Mirror Logicians of the Altmer fight in chrysalis shells that phase in and out of Tamrielic Prime in the form of abyssal geysers or maybe they could be the results of the eye of magnus causing havoc.!
A lot of possibilities of what they could be.

I'm holding out a sliver of hope that Abyssal Geysers is some kind of wave-based PVE group activity where you face increasingly difficult waves of enemies. Maybe it would even have it's own leaderboards.

Completely speculation, of course. We only know it's name and that it's described as "an all-new group challenge". Worth noting that Maelstrom Arena and Dragonstar Arena have been described on the eso website as solo challenge and group challenge, respectively.

I would be sad if it turns out to be just a lame variation on dolmens. Honestly, the name itself sounds to me like it'll be a dolmen clone...

Wouldn't disappoint me if they were Summerset's version of dolmens. But, ZoS, if so, they (and dolmens generally) need to be harder. I don't think anyone, not even 720's should be able to solo them.

And no, it's not a new group dungeon. And it doesn't seem to be a new vDSA either. On the announcement page it says:

Looks like it could be. If so, I hope they won't be face-rollable and the bosses will actually be hard to kill, even for huge groups.

Good catch. Definitely not what I wanted to hear though. Zos ought to change the text to:

I'm expecting something like dolmens, but hoping it's overland group dungeons (like Skyreach, Shada's Tear, etc. in Craglorn).

What I expect...

Dolmen is cool. But they are similar to each other.
Diversity (especially of enemies) would be nice.
Challenge.
Great bosses. High health.
Good rewards.

Don't think so. The "Classic" Tamriel is still plagued by Molag Bal. Only Vvardenfell and Summerset don't have any connection to Molag Bal because they are all happening after we defeated him. So "old" zones like Cyrodiil won't be influenced by new story developments. That's a major design flaw but that's how it is.

im hoping for a survival like mode. wave after wave no full team rez so once you whipe your group starts over.

Like the arena from the original destiny, but with the effects of the nightfall from original destiny.

Summerset also brings a new group activity not found on the larger continent of Tamriel: Abyssal Geysers. Scattered across the island, these new group activities spawn waves of fierce monsters and must be shut down before they overrun the surface.

I really hope there are lots of them, they're hard and offer good rewards.
