Need help deciding if I get Summerset on PC or PS4

I have been playing on PS4 since it released, and on PC during the subscription stage. I moved to PS4 because some IRL friends picked it up and they preferred PS4, so I have been on there for a while now. High level characters, nearly all research done, maxed out professions, gold, and many achievements, all on PS4.

I find myself loading up the PC version ever so often and just love the look, feel but get bummed that I don't have all the progression. That aside, what really makes me sad is the population. When I log in with PS4, I always see others in random places, newbies and vets alike, on PC, I find that this is not the case.

All my progression aside, I really want to play Summerset on PC, but what is holding back my decision is my fear that there will be no one to play with in the older content.

So my question is, does the PC have a active healthy community and where are they hiding?

PC NA is healthy as its ever been imo

PC. PS4 Gen is wrapping up in a year or two, and there will be less of a break in play if you’re upgrading platforms (assuming ESO isn’t being upgraded and launched).

Everything should be cross platform next gen anyway.

Edit: Oh, and I made the swap (back) like seven months ago and I’m farther ahead than I ever was on console—in terms of CP/ gear/ wealth and achieves.

Normally I’m a proponent of the PC, and there’s certainly nothing wrong with the population imo, but you’ve got your friends and your progression on the PS4.

Pc might look and run better, but if you’re like me, you’ll probably want to stick with your people and stuff over starting over.

Mmo lifespans tend to last longer on pc platforms, I would think console would have the biggest impact as more mmos enter the console market and console players typically leave to other games like cod, etc

Depends on how far along you are on PS4. I wouldn't change platforms if I was invested on one already.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

The main question of population has somewhat been answered in a few responses. The people I played with on PS4 have moved to other games, so that's not an issue, the general "seen" population is what was good to stay with. And even the achievements, yes I have invested a lot of time but I enjoy the game and am happy to start fresh (even though its not 100% fresh as I have a CP 90 on PC NA).

Off to the guild recruitment pages for me next, see if its easy to get into a chilled guild. Might play on PC NA like that for a week or so to get a general idea and find where everyone is hiding.
