How do u break down armor or craft armor?

This is my 1st time blacksmithing. I'm not even at level 3 yet, but I've noticed that when I go to break down stuff heavy armor I have doesn't show as an option, only weapons. Am I missing something or do u start learning armor at a higher level?

Pang✭✭✭✭In the crafting interface there are separate tabs for weapons and armor. To decon armor simply click on the little armor icon and you will see a list of available armor you can decon.1 -
Also, make sure you don't deconstruct any items with traits you haven't researched yet.1
