Would you like/use an ESO Companion App?

So I was listening to ESOTR podcast today and they were talking about a question they received in their mail bag. The question isn't all that specific to my question but I can elaborate if anyone would like me to. During their discussion they mentioned the library you gain access to after completing the Mage's Guild storyline and I thought what if you could access that from your phone? I know I for one would be more likely to read the lore during breaks at work or downtime at home rather than waste the little bit of time I get in-game reading those lore books. From there I expanded, what if there was an app that you could access that allowed you to do more than just read your lore books, what if you could access maps, your characters stats, see what you have and haven't researched trait wise, manage your guilds, or even access in game chat. The possibilities are endless. What do you think, would you like it if they released a companion app for ESO and would you use it if it were available?

I saw a ton of topics about this but no real polls in my brief search but I just thought it would be interesting to gauge the rest of the communities interest in something like this. I doubt it will ever be created but I can dream right?!?

Not a big fan of companion apps in general. I play on PC so if I want to look something up while I'm playing I can just use the browser (like I'm doing right now, afk in game while I read the forum), or I could use my phone.

If you want to read lore books when you can't get in-game you can use UESP, I think they have all the books.

This would be so cool. I’m a super organised person so have made my own spreadsheets for trait research, furniture recipes, motifs etc but being able to access all that data properly optimised for mobile rather than having to grab my laptop to update them would be awesome.

I also imagine it would be really handy for locating specific crafting stations for master writs - I always find myself googling that!

Being able to respond to my guild members through a chat would be cool too, to let them know when I’ll be online, help them out with anything I can when I’m offline and stuff like that.

All of this in one place too... Please make this a thing ZOS!

I am a big fan of the companion app idea. We know that ZOS (not Bethesda or anyone else) has hired a team to develop a cross-platform mobile app, and as ZOS only game is ESO I am very hopeful.

I would try it. I play fullscreen and prefer it that way and I don't always want to tab out to my browser to look at things like maps or achievement lists, so I prop my phone up at the top of the keyboard. It'd be nice to have an actual app instead of just browsing for everything to do that with.

I would like it - hadnt even thought of the lorebooks, but it would be cool to be able to track research, choose outfits, maybe view the map (I like looking at the map and just staring at a while. Particulary the version here:

I would love a companion app. Here's what I want:

    (1) A character progress/status UI similar to the one we have in game.

    (2) Inventory maintenance -- a UI for moving things from my bank, storage chests and other characters to and from any given character, and to equip it if appropriate.

    (3) Achievement browser -- I know I already have this in game, but I want it open on my tablet while I quest if I want.

    (4) Lorebook reader -- self explanatory.

    (5) A guild trader browser -- If I want to buy a defending werewolf dagger, or that last purple recipe, I want to be able to search for it and find out which guild traders have it.

    (6) Collections management -- I want to see all the motifs/recipes/furnishing-plans I have on each character and which ones I'm still missing.

    (7) An LFG tool -- I want to be able to post to find three people who want try that Mazzatun no death run I keep dreaming about. Or jump into the Sewers for skyshard hunting. Or whatever.

i would love a companion app if it was like the one in battlefield 4, where you could see all the detail of everything you own ets, that's a real app that you can use to setup you players ets
