Any plans to add combat skills to Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild?

Will we ever see combat skills and/or passives added to DB and Thieves Guild skill lines? It doesn't even need to be fully fleshed out skill lines like Psijic Order, I'd be happy with just an ultimate or active skill from each. :)

I remember Firor making some vague comments along the lines of "not at this time, maybe later" when the DLC's were in PTS due to the egregious combat balancing problems at that time, most of which have be smoothed out. Has anything been said since?

Would be great (like they added Ultimates to weapon skill lines) but I doubt they're going to do it.

    I'm 99% sure they won't.
Psijic Skill line, being like Fighter's/Mage's Guild and Undaunted, is the substitute of a class, like Warden, in this new Chapter. It takes more effort and balance than a skill line like DB's/TG's ones, that only have passives that don't influence combat.

It does take more effort, but they set the precedent with weapon ultimates which were base game and not specifically monetized. DB/TG lines are part of DLC, adding combat elements to these lines could create incentive for many people to buy the DLC or keep ESO+ sub active.

From what I see, it won't happen. The skill line from first viewing of the skills is a purely utility one.

The time stop ability is an AoE snare+root, like talons. Undo seems like an Oh *** ult with possible resource return, like battle roar, and It has meditate, which seems to be a general regen skill, but one with a limit. (Possibly meant for tanking) Something small to help other classes with roles not designed for them, but to a lesser extent than say a DK.

Its because a skill line is a direct addition to those who have it, whereas with a class/sets you lose all the other classes strengths in favor of your own.

...why would thieves have combat skills? They are there to pilfer stuff, not to kill people... if anything they might want something to, I dunno, escape if the guard are after them, or convince the guard to look the other way if they get caught... ;)

The TG brings a nice thievy feel without any need for active skills, simply with all the theft and law evasion options.

And the DB has their Blade of Woe, and you don't even need to give up a skill slot for it! :p;)

Nope. Because Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild are not combat related. Thieves guild helps with fencing and stealing, Dark Brotherhood is the assassin. They never get into combat anyway...

About the only thing that makes sense would if the TG added a way to bash an NPC into unconsciousness so we could rifle through their pockets.

DB already has the Blade of Woe, and even an armor set for that weapon.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Skill lines:

    Disguise
    Distraction
    Incapacitate
    Movement (grappling hook, etc.)
    Escape
    Etc.

There are tons of things that would add flavor. Strictly from a utility standpoint without NEEDING to roll a NB to keep them effective, or rely on potions or gifts from the dark vendor.

I would welcome this whole hardheartedly.

coulda used an "x" percentage more damage when attacking from behind an enemy (backstab.. like one of the sets do).

Yeah, they seriously need to make this happen.

Even if all the new skills only effect NPC's and the way we get around and interact with them, it just adds color and depth to the 'shady' game play aspects and allows for a much deeper and more rewarding single player game.

Lets face it, MMO or no, the vast majority of players still play solo much of the time. I have nothing against group play, but I rarely do so, as my time in game is hit and miss and I do not have the time or patients to group for much of my play.

The current game play in EVERY MMO is a click grind fest, so the thieves guild and Dark Brotherhood are far more suitable for fast, jump in for some fun and jump out play.... I just wish it had more depth than it does.
