Morrowind bonus with pre-order of Summerset

Ok, wording is a bit off in https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/26343 imo.

I understand that I will receive Morrowind chapter for pre-order, but will it be deleted after Summerset is out (or a bit after/prior to that)?
In other words, will I receive access to Morrowind for free for as long as the game is live?

Since phrases "For a limited-time only" and "Once the Summerset pre-purchase window has closed, you'll need to purchase the Morrowind Chapter separately" actually can be understood as both "You receive copy of Morrowind for ever and ever" and "You can play Morrowind, for as long as Summeset is not released if you pre-ordered Summerset."

Is pre-order offer "limited-time only" or access to Morrowind?

I would really appreciate if somebody from eso staff confirms one way or the other.

You'll get Morrowind unlocked permanently, not just until Summerset :)

The offer is limited (Summerset + Morrowind). Not your access to it once you purchase it.

I'm pretty darn sure they mean there is a limited window to get Morrowind added to your account for "free" but that once you have it, you have it. I understand your concern, but I think the PR nightmare they'd have if they took away access they'd used as a purchase inducement is one they can easily foresee and will avoid.

The whole sentence in the announcement is "For a limited-time only, digital pre-purchases will also immediately receive full access to the Morrowind Chapter as a bonus." Which to me (and I am a lawyer, for reals, though in criminal rather than civil/contract law) swings on the "also immediately receive." The limited time only part applies to the entire second phrase. "Full" access doesn't mean temporary.

Bear in mind that afaik law does hinge on what a reasonable person would understand to be true, and it is a more than reasonable inference that the limited part refers to the purchase opportunity, not to the duration of the product once purchased.

think of it as a sale. which is honestly what it is. when you buy something on sale, you still get to keep it permanently, its just for a week, or couple of days, or whatever else - those items you bought? cost less and after promotion is over, they go back to selling for full price. that's what this offer is - a promotion.

summerset doesn't release until june (or may 21 if you are on pc) so you won't get to play it until then.

if you already have morrowind, you do not get an extra copy according to ZoS. think of it as.... level up rewards. if you already own the costumes they give you... you don't get any more costumes. its just an little enticement bonus for those who might be on the fence and don't have morrowind yet. get it now - and save money. wait for a better sale on sumerset and have to buy morrowind separately. plus... the whole waiting longer thing.

You won't get access to Summerset until it's actually released in a couple of months.

The deal is for a pre-purchase. "Limited time only" means the deal is only being offered until Summerset is released. I'm really not sure how you can misinterpret this. They can't sell you something then take it away after you paid for it.

Okay, I was wrong. If you continue reading it says:

Once the Summerset pre-purchase window has closed, you'll need to purchase the Morrowind Chapter separately if you wish to explore the home of the Dark Elves. Note that if you already own ESO: Morrowind, you will not receive an additional copy.

I believe what they mean by that, is that once the pre purchase window is closed it won't be available in a bundle anymore. After that you'll have to buy Morrowind and Summerset separately, which means you will no longer get it for free.

Yeah absolutely. They could have worded it better. But as @Donari said above, I highly doubt they would give temporary access to Morrowind and then take it away. People would go nuts :s

You'll receive those once Summerset launches. :) The only items you get immediately are the Nightmare Senche, and access to the base game and Morrowind (if you didn't have those already).

This wss on a post by gina so how do we access the base game

Any idea of what you can get instead of Morrowind in case you already own it?? I really like the mount and the pre-order bonus items but I already own Morrowind so I don't know if this offer is worth enough or if it's better to wait.
    What do you think guys?

its straight forward, slow down and read it.
Then during your purchase review whats listed on the right.

I will say its worth looking at two or three to compare so you understand what is in each or use this page: https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/joinus

It shows check marks under the bundles.....just slow down

It's worth it if you like the mount and items. They're just throwing in Morrowind for free as a bonus for people who don't have it, so it really doesn't make a difference if you already do :) I got it mainly for the mount and the costume.

Yes, adding previous expansions with new one is a standard deal with most MMO nowadays. But the wording leaves offer opened to interpretations, as I described in first post.

Was it a harmless, but, maybe, somewhat inept, attempt at instilling sense of urgency or corp-speak to mask promo as a gift - is the question of this topic

morrowind unlock is permanent. being able to get morrowind with purchase of summerset, at no extra cost - THAT is temporary.

if it was temporary acess, they would have said that it was a trial. or something of that nature.

plus there is this news article

    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/26343?ESO:-Summerset-Editions-&-Pre-Purchase-Rewards

    and this https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/joinus

if you scroll all the way down, you can see when offer to get complementary morrowind expires (june 12). but more importantly - you can see that outside of specifying that you have to prepurchase in order to get acess... it doesn't say that its temporary acess, the level of acess is shown to be the same as if you just bought morrowind separately.

but if reply from ZOS here is the only thing that will assure you /shrug. I'm just passing along the info.

@Linaleah if you kindly read my first post (first one in topic), you'll find out why am I asking this question.

    More in-depth
Pre-order is, by definition, limited time offer, it's offered prior to product been released. There is no need to specify that pre-orders are "limited time only".
But nonetheless, it was specifically put in press release (link in my first post) that the order is "limited time only".
Was it a wording oversight or specification that access to Morrowind will be provided for a limited time only? Idk, that's why I'm asking for official clarifications.

I have and I'm still not understanding the confusion over the wording. to me its pretty clear. the limited time applies to ability to get it without paying extra. maybe its because I have participated in promotions of that nature before and bought stuff on sale. but the wording is pretty clear. buy now - get it and KEEP it at no extra charge. wait until after sale is over - have to buy it at full price. its a sale. all it is is a sale. sales are always limited time. not your ability to keep what you bought on sale. reduced cost is temporary. they are specifying that its temporary, becasue release day is june 5, while promotion ends on june 12. promotion lasts for a week after preorders are no longer preorders. hence the need to specify that yes, this promotion DOES expire.

but fine. you don't have to trust me. like I said. /shrug
