No more far fetched then defeating Molag Bal then heading back to town to grab something out of the bank, accidentally stabbing an NPC and having my arse handed to me by some nobody guard.

Me as I run from guard: “Bro! I just threw down with a daedric prince, leave me alone!”

Guard: ... (grins as he one shots me)

Also, no more far fetched then being able to do any kind of magic at all.

Our character is OP as ***. I mean, we've defeated 3 Daedric princes (Molag Bal, Barbas/Calvicus Vile, and Nocturnal), 4 Celestials, countless lesser daedra, and saved two gods now (Vivec and Sotha Sil). I'd say it's pretty realistic we get instant access to the Psijic order (in fact, they should be actively trying to recruit us). Don't think there are too many folks in Tamriel who have a resume that impressive.

Back to the point (if there ever was one bar forum farming) as others have covered its a completely good point, there is one vestage, that's all. NPCs deal with us in the singular.

I learnt a long time ago to treat themepark MMO stories as a single player experience and head cannon something else for the multiplayer side.

Sadly it's very hard to have good storytelling and non-special status, yes it can be done but eventually you just get a mass of dull quests where you're never really the big hero.

My interpretation of why there is so many dragon knights + vestiges and such is every player in the game is an alternate possibility of the same person in a single time line. That is why this specific time line of events is inside a dragon break and gets deleted in a sense.

In 1000 years nobody will remember this massive initiation into the order. That translates that the world as we know will cease to exist.

a) In 1000 years nobody will play the game anymore and we will all be forgotten
b) None of us will actually make it into the Psijic order. We were tricked once again by Molag Bal.
c) Someone will use his undo and send us back to the past.

So in skyrim....nobody will have heard of us..

All of which the Psijic wouldn't do because they don't involve themselves with mortal affairs. Just based on how he described 1 skill so far I already don't want it to be a thing for the sake of PVP.

Hi, there's a Skyrim Questline that would like to disagree with you. Admittedly, it wasn't a full member who interfered, but the Psijics certainly intervened when they grabbed up the Eye of Magnus

The entire reason the devs picked this era to set the game in is that practically no lore survived until Talos shows up, except that the late 2nd era was a time of horrible chaos with a bunch of emperors nobody really remembered.

That's why nobody spends the TES IV: Oblivion game going "Hey, didn't Molag Bal try this already? Geez, Mehrunes Dagon, you're such a copy-cat!"

Here's my thought.

1. Suspension of disbelief. You can accept that this is basically a single-player game and there is one hero: the active player character. The Psijic Order helps out powerful or potentially powerful individuals in Skyrim, so its not a stretch to say the Psijic Order picked up the player character who is either immensely powerful or has the potential to become so.

2. I can't suspend disbelief. The Lore! There are millions of players swarming the Isles! Late in the 2nd Era, Ayrenn opens Alinor to outsiders and a crime wave of looting, stealing, and murdering sweeps across the land. On top of that, the Psijic Order is so desperate for help against the daedra that they open their doors to anyone and everyone. Even *shudder* humans. This is embarassing. More than that, it is humiliating. Not quite as humiliating as Tiber Septim incorporating them into the Empire by force, but a pretty close second. Everyone agrees that once the outsiders are gone, they will pretend this never ever happened to save face. The Psijic Order purges its roles. Its all fine and dandy, but the memory of their humiliation never truly fades and eventually leads to the aggression of the 4th era Thalmor as they seek revenge...

Okay, Number 2 isn't really a lore-supported explanation, but I find it humorous to consider that the crime wave to come in the Summerset Isles only entrenches the position of the Altmer racial supremacists. The other races really are going to prove themselves a bunch of murderers and thieves.

Actually ... no, not every character defeated Molag Bal.

I play 14 characters and only one of them has played through ESO's main story. I'll probably have one character join the Psijic Order, just as I have one character in every other NPC guild (apart from the Dark Brotherhood).

But you've got the potential to do so. Even if you never complete that quest line with that character, you have the potential to do so. Which, given that avoiding the Main Quest is a fun thing to do in Elder Scrolls, doesn't stop the Psijic Order from recognizing and helping along the Skyrim player character on the basis of their potential.

500K people are only joining the Psijic Order if you assume that 500K people beat up Molag Bal 500K times. Or that Barbas, Clavicus Vile, and Nocturnal had their butts kicked 500K times and are still trying to take over Clockwork City. That's some persistence.

I mean, I suppose you have a point if you gather a group of 18+ people together and zerg the Daedra Wars arc, but I really doubt anyone's done that. Though it'd be funny to see...
