I read it last night (mostly out of interest because I knew these threads would happen), it was really nothing shocking just the normal gathering your basic information so they can have Facebook, Google etc. display adds which are relevant to you (basically show you more Bethesda stuff so you might buy it)Salvas_Aren wrote: »Girl_Number8 wrote: »This came up before, and we were given an option but now why do you force us into something we already said no to? OmG, what info do they get from me if I have no fakebook? I feel guilty right now.
Will actually point Gina to this as it's a good idea and might stop some of the worry every time they update it.anitajoneb17_ESO wrote: »I did not want to create a new specific thread just for that, but it really annoys me to have to approve a modified contract without knowing the changes. You've never been able to say no to the privacy police and play the game. If you said no it would just log you out of the game.
It's to do with their marketing and targeted adds, this is how the entire internet works now and you've accepted plenty of these without ever reading them just by visiting websites (including these forums).

Just scroll through it and click yes and your done. Don't even need to read it but its there for a reason just like the terms of service. Its a legal thing and its just the way it is. I doubt many players even read them they just scroll through and click yes to everything or I agree. Its there to protect you, other people and them legally. To show what rights or rules they have. Whats changed things like that, just don't worry about it and you'll be fine just say yes to everything.
It might still be possible to opt out via email, but sadly you would need to contact them and remain out of the game until that was handled.Girl_Number8 wrote: »Np' you're always helpful. It could also lock you out of some of your rights. It could be there to scam you.
People should *always* read what they sign, and read it carefully.
The problem is that most times it's too long, written in some confusing jargon, and people are not aware of the potential consequences. But that's no reason to tell people "it's ok you don't have to read it, just sign here"... I doubt there's anything in particular to fear from ZOS, but as a rule of thumb, people should read and understand - after all, we're required to confirm that we've read and understood...

The agreement also comes up if you attempt to access you account page FYI, as I had to agree to it last night to view mine.

It doesn't matter if you read it....You want to play you have to submit~
It's been there for a while now. There was a huge uproar when it was added or when it first became noticed and they changed their privacy policy the last time.Permission to advertise at you is on by default too (Account). Not sure if its a recent addition or I just wasn't paying attention the last few times I've logged in to the website.

where do you think we get the junk mail from and phone calls , you know the drill if you can please take a few minutes to fill in this questionare .
to answer your question its most probally to sell the information on , so companys can target you to sell you something .
This was a change a while ago, and it was so Bethesda could send promotions for their games. Like the TES Legends offers for ESO+ members.dennissomb16_ESO wrote: »Go to your ESO account. You will find that the new privacy policy has flagged your account automatically to share your email with third part websites so they can send you "ESO type" emails/information. Essentially ESO has just automatically offered to sell all players emails. You can turn it off but I am guessing Zenimax is counting on the average person to not even notice
