What's the best way (lore-wise) to progress through zones?

Title says it all.

What's the best way to do it? I mean the usual Alliance zones as they were prior to One Tamriel is pretty obvious but after finishing Coldharbour?

Starter Island -> 5 faction zones -> Coldharbour -> ?

I would like to go the best and most logical way storywise.

Morrowind -> Clockwork City is pretty obvious as well. But what's with Gold Coast, Hew's Bane, Orsinium etc?

Gold Coast and Hew's Bane fits in anywhere really.

15 faction zones before CH imo. Much relates to molag bal in them, which makes no sense if you already fight him, and ending is better if you help all three facriona.

Crag, TG and DB are anywhere really.

I have just started a new char (its been over a year since I last did one properly), and I am doing it -

Zone into Firemoth, do quest to finish on Sadrith Mora - grab skyshard next door to office, head for wayshrine >

Wayshrine to mainland wayshrine of my own alliance, take just the wailing prison quest >

Fast run through Wailing prison, goto Starter Island >

Do own alliance all 5 zones to explorer, skyshard hunter, and pathfinder achieve in each zone in turn, take Coldharbour quest at level 45 and just do the initial quest as far as Cadwells camp, then zone back to mainland. Also do Introduction to Orsinium quest early on as far as Orsinium steps, and likewise wayshrine back to where I left off. Do Main Story, mages guild and Fighters guild stories alongside this.

Then do the other two alliance areas, all quests, delves, skyshards.

Do Coldharbour, then Silver/gold should autocomplete.

Do PvE Cyrodiil in Shor, all delves, dolmens and skyshards and all village quests once for achieve, plus all found side quests. At this point the "Explorer", "Tamriel Hero", "Savior of Nirn" titles should be awarded.

Do Craglorn, then Orsinium > TG > DB > Morrowind > CWC, and by that point Summerset should be out.

After this head into Imp. City, and clear that AND the sewers. If all goes to plan you will have >150 skill points.

Originally the logical progression was something like... Starter Island -> 5 faction zones & Cyrodil PvP in between -> Coldharbour -> Cadwells silver -> Cadwells gold -> Craglorn -> Imperial City -> Orsinium -> Thieves Guild -> Dark Brotherhood -> Vvardenfell -> Clockwork City

Nowadays you can do things willy-nilly, though it makes little sense to do the other allainces regions while still in the mainstory - the fluff there is that after the mainstory, you go to "experience the other alliances" in a sort of meridia-induced paralell world where you get to see what "might have been" had you dropped out of coldharbour in those places...

The actual story continues from coldharbour with craglorn and then the DLCs, Imperial City, and Orsinium, then the guild DLCs though those are sort of standalone and can logically be done whenever - though for many of their missions it is good if you have done all alliances to unlock all maps, so...

Vvardenfell is best done -after- Orsinium, since otherwise the warning-giving apparation as the end of Orsinium seems a litle displaced in a "yeah, I knooooww!" sort of way. And obviously clockwork city is better after Vvardenfell as well, because the end of the Morrowind querstline makes way more sense if Sotha Sil is still indisposed from his troubles... (because otherwise one would ask why he allowed the dog in his house after all!)

I really don't care much for other factions lore-wise. Have already played DC and AD to 50 but now I want to start a brand new character that just experiences the lore within their faction and what's to come after that.

So how is Craglorn and Orsinium related to Morrowind? Character or storywise? Or is it just the best way besides the lore?
