So - If we remove Crown Crates, what will they do?

Release all the crate content for Purchase instead?

So -
Each Apex Reward (Such as the "High quality" mounts) will be priced at 4-5K crowns. (Radiant would likely be 1k more or so)
Each costume will be priced at 1-2.5k Crowns
Each gesture, momentum, and tattoo will likely go for .5-1.5k Crowns

You won't have to gamble any more.
Instead, you can easily spend 5k crowns on something REAL, like a Mount.

Every time I've gotten crates, I've gotten the 15 Pack. 5k Crowns.
I average around 2 mounts
3 costumes
around 10 mementos, gestures, and tattoos

So, that would be around -
18k-20k in crowns to get all of it.


Of course, will I use it all? Am I really getting 20k crowns worth of True Value from my purchase of 5k Crowns worth of crates?
I love costumes, I switch mounts regularly, and the mementos and other things have proven useful for random fun. I have around 3 tattoos total I haven't found a use for on any look.
Lets say I'm getting usefulness out of 80% of it

Well, now it's more like a 16k "Value" for 5k.
Still sounds good.

What about the chance that I get nothing really great out of it? It can happen.
Well, RNG makes everything random, but it still gives me a fair chance of getting Gems and random less valuable items I want.
What would I need from 15 Crates to make back 5k worth in junk?
Around 5 or so costumes I like (Including hats). That would add up to around a 5k Value.
Would I spend 5k on a set of 5 Costumes, though? ...Yes.

Does that really make up for the cost of getting 15 crown crates for 5k? ...Maybe? That seems more a "Moral values" issue.

My last experience with Crown Crates was the Flame Atronach Set. I have not bought any of the Scalecaller yet.

I got 3 Apex Mounts, Apex Skin, 4 Legendary Mounts, Akaviri Motif, and a collection of neat random objects.
That was from 45 Crates. 15,000 Crowns total. I bought the Crowns on a Half-Off discount. (around $54 worth of Crowns.)

Assuming "reasonable" pricing in Crowns for every item -
We are looking at (Not including other Rewards) a roughly 30k "Value"
Of course, I get no Value if I don't use the items. I use all the mounts, I use the Skin, and I use the Motif.
Lets discount the Motif because I could buy it in game with AP.
Still probably a 25k Value on things I use regularly. That is still more out of it than I put in.

Do I need all of those mounts and items? ...How the hell would I know? I still like having them.

I guess what I'm really trying to say is - In what world could we have these Outrageous Crown Store Prices yet the thing most people are pissed about is the stupid Loot-boxes that seem to pay out better than actually trying to buy things you want for cash.
Yes, the crown crates are a miserably sick idea.
I'd prefer we don't remove them until after we actually assure reasonable pricing in the store as a whole.

Separate teams by the way. Crates don't affect other content from being released.

Plus, there is a schedule for content release. Even if it was the same team, they have already said when things are coming out. It's not as if they have extra time, so hey, here is something we DIDN'T announce.

Besides the few crates I've gotten for free I have yet to buy any crown crates, or any other items, in this game, mainly because there are items in the cash shop here that's more than my first car

Why the hell would anyone want to spend $100-$200 on a night of partying only to receive a few hours worth of enjoyment (if you can even remember it), wake up feeling like crap, and have absolutely nothing to show for it?
