Horseback Combat

Hello everyone. I have 2 new ideas thus far and they both are really great for improving combat ideas. My first one is where there’s a skill line for fighting on horseback with a one handed sword or a bow. The second is a Joisting arenas and contests where players get matched up and have a grand time knocking each other off horseback with a lance. This leads to a new idea for a new class called paladins. Paladins can be DPS or healer via holy magic and the use of a one handed sword or a lance.

    So...stamplars.

    Also, we just had a,thread about mounted combat in PVP. IIRC, the general consensus was "Awesome in theory, but ZOS' chance of pulling it off on the current servers? Nil."

    What is a Stamplar and ZOS? Also what does Nil mean?

    If your talking about stamina Templars, it’s nothing like them. Besides, a spear and a lance are 2 different weapons. Second, I’m sure that it can be worked.

    Or just make it a Calvary Skill line where you can only use one handed swords on horseback.

    Sorry, I just assume most people recognize those terms, my bad.

    ZOS = Zenimax Online Studios
    Stamplar = a templar who uses stamina morphs and weapons skills
    Nil means zero.

    So the closest thing you'll get in game to a D&D style paladin is the templar class. Templars have powerful healing and holy light magic. A templar that uses magicka makes for a powerful healer (though any class can also do damage or tank). A templar that uses stamina would use weapons like two-handed, bow, dual world or one hand and shield in addition to their stamina-morphed class skills to do damage or tank.

    This is the recent thread I was referring to about mounted combat and I think it illustrates the problems with that idea better than me re-typing it here would do: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/399240/who-wants-mounted-combat-in-cryodiil/p1
