It's a *** move, but that's all that it is. You can't arbitrarily say "This motif costs 20k and nobody is allowed to sell it for anything more." If you don't like the price, then don't buy the item.

Totally. Upselling motifs at absurd prices (not against the TOS) is totally the same as selling gold for real money (against the TOS and a bannable offense) and botting (against the TOS and a bankable offense).

    Totally.

No. You aren't. Demand is up for obvious reasons, and supply is down because ZOS intentionally decreased the drop rates of many motifs.

If people want to pay 100k+ gold to show off their bird chest, that's their business.

But once MM/TTC recommend X amount of gold, people will keep trying to get those prices even if nobody's buying. Prices ascend far faster than they descend. If they ever really descend at all.

I did the Gold Coast quests on my crafter every day during the event, and I ran all my alts on it one day. I received what I'd estimate to be about 40 boxes that would drop the Minotaur.

Didn't see a single page drop. Got a few Order of the Hour, but nada on Minotaur.

Maybe spend more time grinding gold and less whining about prices on the forums?

No, you aren't right. they cost 20+k as other parts. Some guy bought all of them for TWENTY THOUSANDS PER PIECE and try to make money on YOU, ME and other guys.

    That's not against the rules.

No but it is foolish to support them by buying at an over inflated price. The OP is only suggesting not to waste your money. They have a good point.

This has as much to do with ZOS nerfing the droprate of Minotaur to a level that no one but a straight-up sociopath would even consider as it does with the outfit system.

I ran a lot of the GC quests on a couple of characters during the event; I got a couple Minotaur motifs (sword and dagger if I remember) but far less than I got Order of the Hour. Drop rate is not good, even with double boxes.
I'm in no rush to run Minotaur chests, so I can wait and see if I happen to have it drop for some character someday or if the price comes down.

    Don’t buy it?

Now is the worst time to buy motifs with the outfit system in place.

Demand is very high for just about everything.

And if he had explained that as well as you have, this thread might not have been so confrontational. (Or anywhere as long).

Still, if 150k is too much, people won't pay it and the "profiteer" has wasted gold by listing them that high.

People who buy low and re-list at severe mark up are risking their own money. Anyone can do it. Some can do it well. There is no need to complain because you aren't the latter.

Far as I have seen in eso no one really has a control on the market value of items. Not when it comes to people having different opinions on the value of an item. One person thinks so and so item is of so and so value. They think they can turn a quick buck at someone else's expense or whatever. A lot of this all can make people not really truly enjoy the game in the end. Same people that bs about worrying about farming for so and so items to sell to make money seem slower than actual money grinding from actual enemy drops.

Yep. Thats pretty much what I've been saying. Prices are jacked up, they'll come down naturally in a month or two. But the OP apparently thinks that buying low and selling very high is equal,to goldselling and botting, which I disagree with.

It's 100% about supply and demand.

Mazzatun and Minotaur chests are skimpy, and so obviously the Outfit system, which can be used by anyone even if they don't have leveled crafting, would cause a massive increase in the people looking to buy the motif.

Once the supply starts dwindling from massive consumption, only then does it become possible to start artificially increasing the price.

That being said, you can never compare this to real-world scenarios, because the motif is accessible to anyone who takes time to farm the dailies, in addition to it being purely cosmetic and thus a non-necessity.
