How really scale bow ultimate ?

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I wanted to theoricraft something cool with bow ultimate(BALLISTA), but my tooltip seems kinda bugged.

When I put points into taumathurge, it doesn't increase tooltip.

When I have a destro staff with a destro staff ability slotted, it doesn't increase the tooltip (should be 8% more from ancient knowledge fire and ligthing staves both doesn't increase the tooltip).

And the last thing making me sad is the tooltip I have on UESP build editor (57k tooltip on the build editor, but 46k tooltip in game).
I have three questions :

Is the tooltip bugged ?

What are the real passives and cps working on ennemies ?

What stats are choose for the scaling on a magicka character ? I know Ultimate scale from max ressource and max spell/weapon damage but how about critical chance ? Penetration ? Critical damage (Elfborn or precise strike) ?

    Hmm, other than the increases you see in damage based on the increase in Attributes, I don't think the Tool Tips show you increases from Champ Passives. I think those are just base damage from the original game systems, where the Champ System just adds to that. So you have to turn on the flying numbers to see what is really going on in combat.

    Also, I know he has promised a Stamina version of this, but you can convert this to stamina if you noodle it a bit

    But, these are the underlying calculations for combat attacks in the game.

    Thanks for your reply, but the fact is I'm speaking about ultimate, which isn't a magicka or stamina ability, but an ultimate and it's not in your link unfortunally :'(

    So, ZoS made the choice to make ultimate a little hybrid viable in the way it scales on your max ressource and max spell/physical damage.

    The bow ultimate is a single target channel that deal physical damage : So it's damage should be increase in term of passives by mighty and by taumathurge. But how about the critical damage ? On a magicka build using an ultimate that deal physical damage is elfborn or precise strike choosen ? (If people that use DBoS on their magplar/magsorc know how physical damage ultimate scale on magicka build I take it)

    The only difference between an Ultimate and a regular skill is the Ultimate scales from whichever Attribute is higher. Anything that goes to increase your respective damage will increase your Ultimate damage.

    However, this does not change the fact that you will not see differences from the Champ System in the Tool Tips.

    Also, Thaumaturge does not affect all DoT's, just some of them. The Bow Ultimate may not be considered a DoT in the classic sense, as it really a series of attacks, not a single attack with Ticks like a real DoT is.

    So, my final advice still stands, turn on the flying numbers, check your results, make the changes, check your results again using a target dummy.

    Physical/Poison/Disease damage = weapon crit damage, physical penetration, mighty CP
    Magical/Fire/Shock/Ice = spell crit damage, spell penetration, elemental expert CP

    Magicka ability = Magicka and Spell Power
    Stamina ability = Stamina and Weapon Damage
    Ultimate ability = Highest and highest

    If that makes it clear. So Physical ultimate is weapon crit, physical penetration, Mighty CP, highest resource and highest power

    Actually Ballista is direct damage. So Master-at-Arms boost it. But it doesn't change tooltip as well :)

    All such nuances should be tested directly in the game with target skeleton.
