I'm like half excited for spellcrafting, half terrified that it's gonna be an unbalanced mess.

at least if they kept it like they said it was going to be we wont have to worry it being because people think its p2w since you can sell spells you wont actually need the chapter to use but how they are now they might of changed that

Excited for the chapter - I've always wanted to visit my main character's childhood home.

However, I'm worried that anything good like spellcrafting, jewelley crafting, will end up like the outfit system, greedily monetized, with lots of silly gold fees thrown in and overpriced CS slots and things. The outfit system promised so much, but never actually delivered because the greed ruined it.

    Eww Summerset Isles.
I am not excited at all. I was excited over 9000 for Morrowind chapter since I liked TES III a lot. On the other hand, I have no feelings toward SS (pun intended) isles at all, at least not the ones you would consider good ones.

If they give us jewelry crafting, that is just fine. same goes with spellcrafting or Psijic skill/guild line. Rest is of no appeal for an EP loyalist such as me.

I'm excited for more story in general, but Summerset will probably make for a very pretty location. What got datamined regarding potential spell- and jewelry crafting as well as a potential Psijic Order guild line also looks very promising!

Im afraid they will change it to make more money on it. That the money they get for the dlc won’t be enough and they will find a way to drag it out so they can sell speed ups like crafting and horse riding. Or something like you need tunes to make them and they willl sell random rune bags...

And otherwise looking forward to new story stuff, the probable continuation of the Daedra War plotline, and a new location to explore. I don't have strong feelings either way about Summerset or the Altmer, but it should be pretty and I'm looking forward to seeing how shiny Alinor is.

the lore and culture just doesnt interest me at all, and they are such a “stuck-up” people and think they are better than everyone. if you arent an altmer they automatically dont like you.

if they were more like MY PEOPLE (the nords), we could just share some mead and have a good time.
but they would probably just complain about the lack of fine wine, and wondering when the last time the mugs were cleaned lmao

    Really bad troll

Actually their lore and culture DOES interest you. The Aldmer were the first farmers, alchemists, scholars, and the first to bring the gift of magic across Tamriel. Basic things like even language standardization are in a large part due to the elves. What have the Nords done? They helped wipe out a race of elves from their native homeland and what? Made mead drinking contests? There is no comparison.

Take a practiced Altmer battlemage versus a Nord warrior and they'll get dismantled. Altmer's divine gifts in the ways of magic actually DO make them superior in many ways (which is not opinion, it is fact). Longer lifespans make experienced Altmer MUCH more trained in subjects than the best Nord could ever hope to be. The only thing Nords have going for them is the how many humans there are, so perhaps said Nords and related humans alike need a reality check.

P.S. Your account ID has been forwarded to Thalmor officials. Have a good day!

I'll admit that the setting is not my top choice but I am still curious about the lore and storylines that will be introduced. If you are feeling lukewarm about it as I was, try checking out the UESP series about datamining the next expansion; it really sparked my interest - http://blog.uesp.net/index.php/2018/01/25/eso-update-17-data-mining-part-1

But even considering that, I'm more interested in what new QoL features, new classes and/or skill lines, and changes to the base game will be coming than the setting and questlines themselves.

I am interested most in the jewelry crafting. It means I won't have to search all over Tamriel for a purple ring when I can just look at the crafted sets and make the ring to match the crafted. No more spending gold on dropped set pieces unless they actually work. I will be able to to run shacklebreaker and Julianos both at 5 piece and the 2 piece monster set assuming that I duel wield or sword and board.

And Spellcraft, blergh. Spellcraft is one of the things that's gonna be painful to implement. You either make it completely broken - or you make it useless. Finding the balance there, I think ZoS ain't gna be able to do.

I'm always excited to visit new places I haven't been to in Tamriel before :)

I'm eager to see how Daedric Triad storyline continues into it too. I admit, I was kinda worried they couldn't make a meaningfully dire story narrative with an unkillable character that has already defeated a Daedric Prince, but I still remain pretty impressed with how it's going. I still hope to see more stories use our "gift" against us though some time, Septima Tharn at least tried to work around it and failed, but others who should know better still think simply trying to kill the vestige conventionally would work. I wonder what Mephala has in mind, seeing as we've already thwarted two plans of her comrades.

I'd be excited if it was a DLC, not again a payable "chapter".
And if there was a hundreds of delves after every corner, like in an old Morrowind, plus maybe a bit of an underwater explorable content. Not just another few tens of delves with different shape and mobs, and another tens with closed doors which cannot be interacted with - like in new Morrowind.
This time I need more and different, not repeated content in new shape and story.

MUCH more excited for this than I ever was for Morrowind. I hesitated on buying Morrowind until a while after it was released, since I've already been to Vvardenfell before, and therefore wasn't too excited about the nostalgia factor. Mainland Summerset will be completely new for me, and I know for a fact I'll be pre-ordering the next chapter if it includes the rest of the Isles. I want to see the beautiful glass city of Alinor in all its glory, with the architecture reminding you of insect wings, and the impossibly high towers that break the sunlight into all the colours of the rainbow. Maybe the engine limitations won't fully realize this, but I'd hate it if they filled Alinor with boring stone buildings that you see in Auridon. Not to say that Auridon doesn't look beautiful, but compared to the mainland, it would look dull.

Spellcrafting also interests me, if they include it as it was demonstrated back in 2014. Obviously it does seem quite limiting compared to previous TES games with spellcrafting, but 600 different combinations of spells should be extremely fun to play around with (assuming the datamining is correct). I only hope that this IS included with the chapter, and isn't a free update, or else the system will be nickeled and dimed until its no longer fun
So the Dark Elves have weird alien architecture, where people live in mushroom towers and the shell of a giant crab, but the High Elves, the pinnacle of technology, the most magically advanced race in Tamriel, are still stuck in slightly pretty, fairly tall stone buildings? Not even a hint of a glass city? Are stainless glass windows really enough to claim that a city is made of glass?
