They must have bank and guild services (mages, fighters, undaunted, thieves, etc.). Perhaps a guild trader. And Storage... MOAR STOARAGE!

The 2 trading guilds I'm in now both have guild halls. One has every crafting station in the game, transmute station, mundus stones, target dummies. It's extremely convenient, so if that were to be added to with an official guild hall system, hell yeah I'd be all over that

Soooo I am not too familiar with this. Is this just a designated building for guild members? What purpose would it serve? @ereboz Do you just mean that someone in your guild has a Notable Home that people in the guild gather at? Just curious on how these things work.

I have tried really hard to make a USEFUL & fun guild hall for our guild using the Housing Limits we have with just being player housing.
Large mansions have 700 slots with ESO+.
That is just barley enough for all the crafting stations, etc.
Then it is empty of anything else.
More Housing slots, Guild Banker, etc are needed for this to work.
Thank you for starting this thread! Let's get ZoS to hear us!!

I've always liked games with guild halls and hoped for this to be included some day in ESO. Only minor concern with a guild hall would be. What happens to it and everything in it, if the guild disbands?

I'm going to have to say no. I think Player Housing suffices right now for the need to have a space that guild members can congregate.

Having played MMO's for years, there's always a trend when it comes to Guild Halls:

    ~Players demand them.
~Devs implement them with features that make them the "one stop shop"
~Players then fully congregate nowhere but their halls.
~Cities end up drying up in terms of population, making the game feel less populated.
~If there's a feature that's missing from the hall that is found in a city, players demand that it goes in their hall.

... and then the above repeats itself over... and over... and over again until the exterior areas of the game are essentially ghost towns.

Which really isn't healthy for the game. The cities are the lifeblood of the game's feel. They are the places that instill a sense of population. If they are deserted, then it doesn't convey the right message for the health of the game at all.

I'd concede only if it were recognized that if guild halls were to be implemented, they'd need to be careful not to eliminate the need for cities. It is always a tragedy to go back to older MMO's that still have great communities, but feel empty because unless you're in a guild hall... you're not associating with anybody.

Yeah usually the guild leader. In the case of the guild hall with all the crafting stations, it's actually the manor of the former guild leader who stepped down but he already had all the stuff at his place. But yes, it's just his primary residence that anyone in the guild can travel to and use the services. Shaves tons of time off traveling the world for different gear sets

only if you can rent the spot just like other guild traders and to be able to have other non guildies see and bask in the radiance of your guild glory!...else its just another space in the void nobody will care about.

Typically a minimum membership level achievement is required to open and maintain, along with a in game gold purchase or rental. Guild Hall is owned by the Guild, they are not a personal property. They allow a greater number of Guild members to gather in them than housing allows. They may or may not have unique features which are also bought with in game purchase of gold and Guild Achievement.

Those are some basic points you find in Guild Halls from other games.

I chose yes but this got me thinking. A good compromise for this is to limit the number of visitors to between 24-50.

You brought up a very valid point.

I think the existing housing could offer features to accommodate some of this. In my mind any home at 5,000 crown or above should or would have updated features. I’d hope all would but I k ow some people would only co sided the large homes as guild halls.

I mean, they already do exist in practice. Most guilds have a home or two that they can call a guild hall. My trader guild has one of the big homes with every mundus, crafting station (of every set in the game), trial dummies, transmute station, etc. Its the home of our guild leader, but you can always port, even if she is offline. I dont think I have ever gone there and been alone.

My house acts as a defacto guild hall for 2 smaller guilds because I have everything above minus the unique crafting stations.

It would certainly be nice if you could designate a guild hall that would perhpas allow officers to add CS items (that way one person isnt buying all the mundus stones for example), or perhaps split the purchase of the house among multiple members, and maybe give them a bit more storage and flexibility over editing. You wouldnt need to change much.

One of the guilds I'm in (Psijic Supreme Order, represent!) already has a hall, and it's fabulous. Attunable crafting stations for EVERY set in the game, all the mundus stones, training dummies, banker, merchant, fence, duelling areas, the works. I might have cried a little when I first beheld its glory. No more wayshrining about when I need to craft multiple gear sets!

I would be okay with a guild hall setup. However, instead of it being like the current housing situation it could be that each guild has access to their own instance of the same building/locale. This location would start out empty and can be filled with NPCs, decorations and other goodies. Some of it could be contributed furnishings from the members. Others could be fixed items that are made available as the guild grows and hits certain mile markers. What those mile markers are and what is made available can obviously be up for discussion.

    Hi guys!

Thanks for the suggestion and all the additions or tweaks on it! The idea of a guild hall or really any sort of shared customizable space sounds really fun! While we can't promise the guild hall idea will be used, we're always really glad to read your suggestions and feedback and hope to read more.

I voted yes, but after thinking it thru and knowing how it could have a negative effect on the population we see in cities... I would go back and change my vote to know.

It's already likely that most good guilds will have an officer who maintains a common area for meetings, crafting, etc. To a lesser extent, Discord and Teamspeak fill a significant function of the "guild hall". I see no need for formal change at this time.

My reservation over guild halls is always mainly that they have an adverse effect on the cities. If everyone has access to all the facilities they need whether in their homes or in their guild hall then the cities ultimately become deserted and new players think the game is dead and move on.

The other problem specific to ESO is that with most guilded players belonging to multiple guilds, as many as five, the role of a central guild hall becomes a lot less clear and there simply isn't the same level of commitment and loyalty that single-guild membership brings in a game. Perhaps to some extent that will counter my main concern, but I'm not sure about that.

Yeah, I want guild halls. And more guild systems. Guilds are a HUGE part of what makes MMOs fun. They've been neglected for a while and there's so much that can be done to improve them.

But I want to stress again that guild halls need to let us use existing houses that we've already purchased.

Nay to guild halls. We had them in EQ2 and the game died a slow death. No one frequented the cities anymore as everyone was holed up in their guild halls. It made the game seem empty and dead especially for those that aren't guild members but still enjoy the hustle and bustle of populated cities.

One of the things that makes this game so attractive is the people being so visible. New people join and they don't look around and go this game is dead, there is no one around to ask for advice or new people to meet because everyone is hanging with their cliques.

Sounds amazing. But also have a few public instance guild halls spread across the continents that have a similar function to the guild traders bidding, which can be taken over monthly. These would be the ‘end-game’ of guild halls.
Complete with allowing daily quests to be selected from, crafted by the players.
