Viper was/is unavoidable damage on a short cooldown. Calurion's is very avoidable, but much more damage and on a longer cooldown. It's more of a magicka Velidreth, imo.

@DeadlyRecluse Is it unavoidable? I haven't had it in my death recap. I was only listening to others who were hit by it and was curious to know the communities awareness and thought on it.

No, Caluurion's IS avoidable. It's a projectile that can be dodged or blocked--that's what makes the comparison to Velidreth more apt, imo. Velidreth and Caluurion's both hit real hard, but can be avoided.
Viper is more constant, consistent damage throughout a fight--Caluurion and Veli are more "half-your-health-gone-lol" if you make a mistake.
Don't get me wrong, they're all annoying sets that should be deleted : P

I almost spit my drink at your last sentence. Thank you. I was going to try and farm the set tonight to try it myself. I am still very much attached to my Shackle and Amber Plasm on my Mageblade in PVP but I was willing to look around.

Dont get me wrong, it is a powerful set, but the projectile is very slow and really easy to avoid if you see it. There is also a delay between the set proc'ing and the projectile actually firing. It is not capable of the same instant burst that vipers is.
