PvP Templar Healer gear help

Odin1088
Odin1088
I want to do large group PvP healing. I have Lich sword and shield, jewelry, and resto staff. I'm not sure what would be a good second set. I was thinking Julianos, but I am not sure. For my monster set, I'm debating between Chokthorn or Nightflame, but if someone has something else in mind, that would be helpful. Thank you.

Magplar healers normally use supportsets instead of pure regen sets. So if you want to make your group more tankier, why not wear wizards riposte, which gives minor maim to your enemies. another possibility would be transmutation, which buffs the crit ressistance of your friends. both are very good light armor sets for pvp. another choice could be spellpowercure, but that only affects 6 friends maximum, but boosts their damage. if you want to debuff enemies with defile, you can also wear duroks bane. overall i would recommend the first two sets: transmutation and wizards riposte (both sets dont have to be active at all time and can be slotted only on sword and shield)
Additionally i would wear a heavy armor set to make yourself tankier. therefore seducer is surely a good option together with tristatfood. if you rather want ot go for witchmothers potent brew, shacklebreaker is an amazing set.
for monstersets i would go either for trollking (gives your groupmembers high healthrecovery equal some healing) or earthgore for the case, real *** happens to your group.

in conclusion i would recommend a setup like this:
    heavy earthgore helm
    heavy earthgore shoulder
    heavy shacklebreaker cuirass
    heavy shacklebreaker legs
    heavy shacklebreaker shoes
    medium shacklebreaker gloves
    light transmutation belt
2 rings and necklace of transmutation
1 transmutation shield together with a shacklebreaker sword
    1 shacklebreaker healstaff

with this setup, shacklebreaker can just be replaced be seducer, earthgore with trollking and transmutation can be replaced with either wizards riposte or spellpowercure. just switch out the specific armor piece.

Thank you. This is very helpful. I have a set of heavy Seducer gear, but I didn't mention that because when I started out working on the PvP part of my build (I'm making him both pvp and pve), I was planning on using the Vanadium build so I grinded for Lich gear and getting the Lich necklace was a pain so spending all the time for nothing is annoying, but I see your point. That build is meant for healing only 4 or 5 people max and from the videos I have seen, they aren't going to the large keep fights very often. As I have learned more from playing the game, I think something else would be better for large group fights. I have one set piece of Earthgore and both pieces of Troll King and Pirate Skeleton. I also have a set of Chokthorn. I read that the reason Earthgore isn't good for PvP is because it has a 35 second cooldown and a lot can happen in 35 seconds. Have you found that to not be the case? I have a 5 piece set of Spell Power Cure, but not in all of those pieces. I use it and Worm Cult for PvE. Not to sound lazy, but is there a work around so I don't have to grind Spell Power Cure again? White Gold Tower is horrible. I have it for my head, shoulders, chest, waist, and feet. I will work on getting Wizards Riposte.

Kragrenac's Hope is also a really good crafted PVP set. You can Rez people so fast as a PVP templar with Krags.

I was running dragongaurd as my other set, you can Sweep even more often... But I think pretty much anything with a bit of mag regen works.

Oh and I was using Shadowrend because its my pet set.... literally and figuratively.

Note: I am not subbed so I don't have access to a lot of sets.

earthgore is an amazing set in pvp, it saves lifes...now you know why every ball group runs at least three times earthgore.
kagrenacs would be a very nice choice too, but you first have to be sure your recovery is sufficient.
as said, spellpowercure is rather the last used set for pvp of the three light sets i mentioned, since you only can buff 6 people with it.
thats why i proposed transmutation or wizards riposte, since you can buff or debuff a lot of other players.
i wouldnt recommend vanadys pvp healer build, since it only stacks recovery and uses pirate skeleton for selfish use, but the build doesnt give much to your allies. also in small groups above described setups are very nice.

I always go 5 heavy 2 light. No point being a healer if you get two banged in light. Even with harness and such, you spend so much time keeping yourself alive, healing others is problematic.

I always go resto and s&b as well so if you get super focused you switch to s&b and turtle up. Having a burst heal on Thai bar if beneficial.

As far as gear, heavy seducer is amazing. You get the survivability from heavy and help with sustain. I then pair it with wizards mostly. Like I said, good players/groups will focus you first so wizards on back bar (5th piece on shield) can really help not only, but the whole group.

You then have room for a monster set. Eathgore is great, but trolls king is good if you don't have that. You can even go 1/1 to buff whatever stats you are missing out on.

You'll want inner light on your main healing bar though to make up for losing crit in heavy.

pretty much what i said, thx for confirmation.
but i would use cyrodiils light, since the 10% only are applied while casting...which means it only helps with the channeled aoe heal from the templar.

Might have with stendarr. It's good for larger groups. There's quite a few monster helms, but earthgore is fun. Transmutation is good choice. Meritorious service is fun giving people extra means they don't die.

Anairi from Dracarÿs has a good healing guide if you want to run Kagrenac's heavy and a support set.

I don't run Kagrenac's as a base set for PvP heals anymore (after having it for a very long time) ... but this guide is pretty good if you do want to go that route.
