Magicka sustain of healing templar vs healing sorcerer

Most of my time I spend in Cyrodiil, healing zergs. I've noticed that I can do that continually as a socrerer. I spam heals, dark exchange, spam some more and I have hardly any downtime while healing literally all the time. Dark exchange even seems to be massively overpowered in this context.

On my templar, I want to do the same. Except I can't. I heal a lot and then I'm out of magicka. I then depend on magicka regen and heavy attacks to regen my mag. However, when sieging, there are often no enemies nearby to heavy attack, so I can only wait for my mana to regen. That's very frustrating.

On both characters, I'm mostly just spamming Healing Springs.

How can it be that I can heal forever with my sorc while having huge downtimes on my templar? How can I solve it for my templar?

Are you using Channeled Focus? Assuming 100% uptime that would give you a free 500 magicka recovery assuming you step in the focus at least once every 7 seconds. This also would give you Minor Mending for more healing and an armor buff.

That's really the only magicka regen option that Templars have.

Just weave in heavy attacks on your resto staff occasionally, and you'll have enough Magicka for everything else.
    Kiss the chaos.

I don't have that yet, but I'll definately do this, thanks!

I do that whenever I can. The main problem is when there are no enemies around and we're sieging. At a battering ram that is getting oiled a lot for example. That's no problem for my sorcerer, but I can't keep that up on my templar.
