Block dropping?

Was doing vAA and I've done this a thousand times and I can quite easily permablock the axes, however I was finding my block was dropping and i was getting stunned often.

Ive never had problems here but it seems when blocking and I block casted a skill such as igneous shields the block dropped and took a while to reactivate, all the time I'm holding down block. This has never happened to me before. It also seemed to happen on other skills too.

So, it was not just my imagination or just the result of my high ping? This also happens in pvp where I was getting dizzying swinged or cc'd by blockable ones.

We just had a tank get knocked into the center void by Rakkhat while blocking during vMoL HM. With that and the constant crashes in vMoL it was a bumpy run. Hope this gets fixed soon...

Really annoying and a game changer.

In my vid you can clearly see the damage is being blocked by the '*' beside the incoming damage. Even after casting igenous at 13s, then all of a sudden as the animation was about to finish my block dropped and i was stunned by a heavy.

@ZOS_GinaBruno this a bug?

I noticed this too in vAA last week, but after resetting the fight it never happened since. My screen showed block but all the hits on me was as if I wasn't blocking. It started after I move into position to taunt The Mage, and move back to the tank rock and the reflections hit me and stuns me, and even after recovering it kept happening until I couldn't sustain. After fight reset, I did exact same thing but blocked everything as expected.

Experienced this too. Tons of crap is going straight through my block.

Also, Cyrodiil NPC guards can power bash you mid-dodgeroll.

I noticed this from plain overland/delve content. I was getting quite good at blockcasting on my MagDK, but I recently notice getting CC'ed a lot (like dizzying swings and such) even through block.

I had thought it was my bad ping, but maybe it isn't.

Stealth nerfed block casting maybe?

This has been happening in PvP for months now.. i thought there was something wrong with my RMB at first but i've definitely had block up on a number of occasions and still been knocked back/CC'd etc from abilities that shouldn't go through block. Whatever changes they made just pre-Dragon Bones and/or with the Dragon Bones patch has done something more than just break block though.... CC immunity and dodgeroll seem to be not "working as intended" as well. ZOS are probably mildly aware of this but with something as widespread as all of these above problems, i guess it won't be so easy to fix with the amount of code involved. ZOS has a strong track record of re-breaking things that have been broken and fixed already when they bring out new patches but this one has been the most quirky (nicest, most diplomatic word i could think of) so far and i've been around since launch.

Same.. might very well be some kind of a bug amongst bugs associated with this Dragon Bone patch. I was also getting hit/knocked down a lot in both PvP and PvE while supposedly having block up. Also in PvP, when my block does work and up, I would be getting a lot more damages as well as losing stamina. That and not being able to break free from certain cc/snares (Fear, being one and Talons, amongst others) since this patch.

It is possible that if you hold block at the end of the shield ultimate, the ultimate expires and it cancels your current blocking. It looks like it's not even playing the (blocking) animation.

I observed this same issue while tanking Molag Kena in vWGT last night. When I wasn't casting anything, I could block the cone attack, but when I was using the Ingenious Shield, I still got knocked back, even though I was pretty much permablocking.

It may be a bug if lots of people are experiencing similar, maybe I should have put in the bug section.

In my video if you maximise it and look close the shield ulti expires at 11s and you can see at 12s the block animation is up with the floaty/ethereal shield in front of me, i cast igenous, still blocking, take few blocked heavy attacks, once animation completes at 14s the block symbol is still up but the final heavy from the Axe stuns me.
