I been running dw swords forever..but I have now been considering running an inferno staff..does anybody else do this?
and whats that damage difference

Depends if you use sweeps or not and if you use more dots or direct abilities. If you do use dots/sweeps, lighting staff is better (8% DMG increase). If you use direct abilities, fire staff is better.

But neither will boost your burning light proc DMG. This is why you use dual weld swords.

@Lexxypwns advocated a lightning master staff. I got 1 last night! THSNKS AU!!! It's great. Haven't played with it much though.

Also 2 set bonuses with dw vs. one with destro so there's that.

I would go destro/resto if you run a defensive set that doesn't need both bars (i.e. reposte, transmutation).

I really prefer destro front bar. Preferably masters but even a random destro is better than DW imo.

Weaves add a lot of pressure to the front of your rotation(applying DoTs, entropy, PL, etc) and you’ll more reliably proc your glyph/poison.

I personally like lighting destro more than inferno because lightning reach doesn’t have a knock back, which gives incredible synergy with sweeps. Also, with masters destro, reach has a higher tooltip than javelin on the initial hit and has a very strong DoT plus it can proc Concussion.

The ~4% damage increase from swords canceled out by good weaving+reach DoT without even considering the destro damage bonus OR potential acccess to Elemental Drain(8% and 600 mag recovery).

You don’t even lose a 5pc bonus because you can run one on body and one back bar. Amber+Lich, Surge+Riposte, BSW+SPC, or any of a plethora of options, magika has such good itemization because there’s a back bar set that can add whatever your body 5pc doesn’t.
