Night Terror and Night Mother sets stack?

Sorry, I know this has been asked many times. Do their stealth detection radius reduction stack or not? Are these the best sets for a stealth-based playstyle? Strictly talking solo and landscape questing, not competitive PvP or PvE. Thanks.

✭Yeah they stack, I've tested it. I use them a lot for my thieves.
Khajiit/Bosmer + Night Mother's embrace + Night Terror + full medium armor with it's passives = super stealthy. You have to almost bump in to people in front of them to be seen6 -

✭do 5pc nightmother pn the duelweild bar and 5pc nights silence on your bow bar. and 3pc night terror jewlery.
if you start stealth on the bow bar and swap to the dual wield then you get your 5mother 3terror and get to keep the sneak speed from silence5pc. so you can be max stealth and speed without being a vampire!4 -

Ye, I'm TG R7 and kind of annoyed so need something to make things go more smoothly. It's not that these sets are needed in any way, but they failed to make enough quests for TG so I need to fill in the gaps with pickpocket quests.0 -

Oh cool, I didn't know about doing that. I usually did 2 piece dual weild and the other 2 available pieces of armor being syvarras scales to take less damage from guards, just to make use of the 4 pieces left, but that's a much more useful way of using them. Nice too, because I don't like being a vampire because of the looks.0 -

exactly! i hate being a vampire.
idk how i came upon it but not many theives ive spoken with know about it. might also be cause theives dont really talk.
i think i had it in my head that i would use silence to get around and sacrifice it once i was at my target and swap bars to mothers for the reduction stack. then stumbled upon the fact that u keep the silence buff on your other bar. honestly this is the exact build to run
im positive others use it but im proud i figured it out on my own.0 -

Heh, I felt that way about a little trick I learned in Sacraments. If you use a long-range physical attack from sneak on a lantern guard from behind them (or even just from the side, but not in front in any way), it'll stun them without alerting them to you, and the detection circle disepears while they're stunned, so if you can kill them before they get unstunned you don't get any detection loss and can get through those small tunnels they like to block easier. Usually just throwing "throw dagger" a few times does it.
Not sure how many know about that now, or if it still works as it's been awhile, but oh does it feel good to get revenge on those tunnel-blockers.1 -

You don't "need" them to do the quests. Just makes doing the quests easier.
Heck I use the set outside of TG/DB all the time because it makes looting and pillaging easier and you are less likely to get caught.

Two words: invisibility potions. They make all the difference for DB and TG dailies.
The main quests are easy enough to just bumble through them without any aid. Nothing a few pardon edicts can't fix.0 -
