right, because the price that players set in gold should always be taken into account when zos price things. NOT.

they took something that was there already, and reduced it. and look at the hate they get for doing that. I dont recall the outrage when it was 6000 crowns. but reduce that and OMG! you suck ZOS!

if this is how people react to price reductions, maybe they shouldnt have anything on sale. If you want something you can pay full price instead. OR you can earn it in the game. They arent stopping you.

There most definitely was an outrage when they put the Celestial book in the crown store for 6K crowns as early as May '17, since gold prices were no different then. I've only ever set foot in a trial twice, but I completed my Celestial book by shopping around for the individual parts over the course of 6 months. That was possible because pieces were (and are?) cheap.

Individual pieces going for 2-8K gold do not justify the entire book having a 6K crown price tag. And now that the price is marginally reduced to 5K crowns for a limited time, people are once again reminded of how messed up the price of that motif book in the CS actually is. Both origigal and reduced.

your problem is you think player set prices in gold should affect crown store prices in crowns. Thats the worst idea ever. If that happened, what do you think would happen within a week? thats right, every single item available in game and crown store, would be reduced to like 1g. Then players would still whine the crown store was too expensive.

Player set gold prices, and crown store crown prices are not set the same way, nor should they be. [snip] Would i spend the crowns on this? no. But i dont go postal for them reducing it like some people in here.

No, my problem is that supply and demand should set the price, and they're currently not. Celestial was already a well-known and popular motif before they put it in the crown store, and despite its popularity it is often found for very low prices in guild traders. The fact that a popular motif is cheap (!), testifies to the fact that there's way more supply than demand.

It makes no sense for ZOS to artificially rise the rarity of a motif when the market is already flooded with it. The exorbitant amount they're charging makes even less sense - especially since it's only the newbies who won't know they're trading off ~50K in-game gold for €40,- real money. This motif should not be in the crown store at all, just as the basic racial styles shouldn't be.

Poeple are posting in hopes of ZOS changing their ways in the future. History on- and offline has taught us, after all, that nothing will change if we don't speak up. So this is us letting ZOS know that as far as we're concerned, this is not okay.

How do you have a sale for a motif that is originally $60USD (who even is paying $60 for the Celestial motif lol?), and price at $50? Like that is a huge deal right there. I mean, you have the 3 day slashed price marker and everything. Y’all are tripping hard at ZOS HQ. :D

Edit: For those of you who think I’m making this up.

I've actually (no, I did not buy this) been a couple of times in the crown store over the weekend and everyday since then there was no celestial motif in store, IT WAS ADDED YESTERDAY, yip added for 3 days at 5000crown [snip]

If they said 4000 down from 5000crowns it might have been considered a sale with discount. But presenting us with the standard price of 5000crowns as discounted, "what kind of fool do they take me for" comes to mind...

    ZOS testing their whales again...

If I don't buy it (and I'm not going to) does that mean I have to surrender my Whale Card?

yes. To join the whale club you need to buy 5k crown motifs. and 130 buck digital caves for premium whale membership.
Sadly some will buy it not knowing people deconstruct it on a daily basis since it drops in easiest trial in game.

Sells 5k a piece max. The pain is searching and passing through all those hollowjack and mercenary motifs xD

    #Buffguildtraders

thats what add-ons are for ^^

And thats also why you never find good motifs for cheap on PC :/ rip.

3.7m set Motif cheaper than 50k motif hm.

Umm...BA was in the [snip] crates. So, unless you got one in the crate, it cost you 200 gems. Not sure how gems compares to crowns, but I'm guessing it takes at least 60 dollars to get enough crap consumables and repeats to collect 200 gems.

BA was NEVER for sale in the regular crown store for crowns.

This motif was never in the store on a regular basis. It came around last May as a limited-time motif at 6000 crowns. They've released it again for a limited time at 5,000 crowns.

I agree that the price is still high at 5000 crowns, but there are several motifs that are in the CS at 5,000 (Imperial, Glass, etc.).

Yes it should. The price is set by players as it is because ZoS has the motif drop guaranteed out of the easiest trials in the game. Their crown price seems to suggest it is a rare item yet the drop rate of the item in the game does not reflect this. There is a disconnect there.

We are not reacting to price reductions we are reacting to a direct attempt to defraud new players and take their crowns. That's exactly what this is. Pretending it is anything different is trying to be contrarian for the sake of being contrarian (something you seem to do on these message boards as a general rule but that is beside the point) or just sticking your head in the sand. [snip]

The issue isn't just about something having it's price reduced and you know it.

Those prices actually should be considered because the prices people pay in game represents the economy.

Crowns aren’t real money and as much as ppl will try to equate them as such, they have no real established value therefore we see these ranges of 1000 to 15,000 and attempt to understand the value.

First and foremost, no virtual item should exceed the cost of the game or individual dlc.
So this whole discussion stops right there.

Whatever Tom, *** and Harry are willing to pay or what I can afford is of no importance. When the part exceeds the value of the whole there is an ethical problem going on with how the real money to crown items are handled. @Slick_007

This is exactly why so many gamers complain about companies offering real money to ingame currency stores, [snip]

I have no issue giving any one game $100-$300/year for new content and all but when you sale cosmetics and ingame items for exceeding values above your subscription or DLC, it’s flat out wrong.

Most of the crown items should be 10-100 crowns literally. DLC seems fitting at its price and perhaps you could argue mounts are O K but I disagree as the DLC isn’t much and mounts aren’t more value.

Motifs, potions, exp scrolls, costumes, homes, etc. none of that should even exist for crowns

if they did that, i guarantee within a week all items avail in crown store that you can get as a drop would be worth 1g. Players would do it just to spite ZOS. then complain if ZOS doesnt drop the crown price.
Its a BAD idea to use gold prices to set crown prices.

We're not asking for a direct exchange rate between in-game gold vs. crown prices on any items. All we're asking is that ZOS takes the in-game gold price and economy into account when initially pricing any items for the crown store. AKA: them taking a look in the guild stores and noticing that any motif page for this particular book is fairly cheap and very easy to come by, and thus not rare/expensive enough to justify a 6K crown price-tag in the CS. No-one ever asked for a direct and dynamic relation where an in-game gold price drop would automatically translate to a crown price adjustment.
