Heck, I’d much rather have a lizard around, rather than a grimy, homely looking Altmer.

Your favorite Race lives in Trees, wears clothing made from skinned Animals, builds furniture from bones, and kills people for doing anything harmful to a plant, and then eats them. And at any time they can become slaves to Hircine's Hunt, transforming into beasts to slaughter everyone, including each other, in their path.
Don’t forget, they also tried to start a war with the Khajiit because bandits attacked some of their caravans. After a single invasion and massacre, the Khajiit thoroughly whooped their asses, though.
Screwing with the organized Beast Races is just a horrible idea.1 -

Hist Trees = Buffed up their people to save both themselves and their people.
Last Tribunal = Whisked away to Oblivion during the Oblivion Crisis, leaving the Dunmer to not only deal with the Oblivion Crisis alone but the fall of Baal Dur later on as well as the Argonian Invasion.

To be more precise, Wood caravans. Nothing but lumber. The Bosmer got so triggered by not getting their lumber shipments that they used it as justification for a War with the Khajiit, slaughtering everyone in their path even to the Khajiiti capital before they were repelled.
