Stealth nerf to transmute crystals farm from ROTW

No longer can you log into multiple characters a day and get the rewards of the worthy transmute geode. Instead it's once a day.

Not a massive thing but still I think this was efficient way of farming transmutation crystals, maybe why it was limited to once per day.

I didn't read patch notes for dragon bones so was unaware of change.

How do you feel about the change?

It is more a hindrance than anything.

I currently have about 20 RotW I'm sitting on in the mail, to open one day at a time I'm on.

    It wasn’t stealth anything, it was announced in the patch notes and there were multiple threads about it. Also it’s fine and you still have a chance of getting more than one per day so just go ahead and open them up. You get your guaranteed crystal per day plus the small chance of more that was always intended.

    Or if you're patient, just open one a day. Save the extra for days you couldn't get into pvp.

    I just like the phrase stealth nerf and tbh it is a nerf, it was doable get over 50 in a day before just from RotW so maybe a nerf was needed.

    It puts it more in line to the rate they're earned by PvE activities.

    It was far overturned the old way.
    Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

    IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.
    I am neither warm, nor fuzzy...
    Probably has checkbox on Customer Service profile that say High Aggro, 99% immunity to BS

    I don't think it's a nerf, but rather fixing it the way they intended it to be. Just be glad Zos didn't go banning everybody due to their mail system not working properly since that seems to be the norm instead of holding their programmers accountable for shoddy code. Either way if you pvp regularly your going to get to the point where you just start deleting them anyway since they don't stack or store.

    it actually saves me the time now of having to log in to multiple characters just to open up those RotW mails...

    I think I have around 3k of those crystals saved up in unopened geodes...

    The nerf was uncalled for really. PvE carebears got upset that you could get more transmute crystals from PvP so instead of buffing the PvE gain, they nerfed the PvP gain.

    Uh. You get one guaranteed crystal per day. And a chance to get another one every bag after the first. Also massive 100 after every camp. Still the fastest way to get crystal geodes

    Well i went from a person who used 1 good PvP toon to someone that needed to upgrade a few others so i could use 4 every day. That included upgrading them, that included needing more storage i could get in the crown store... ah haaaaa... so yeah i was shocked they flushed a money maker like that but glad i didn't finish buying all the storage i was going to need to save all my PvE and new PvE gear. :neutral:

    It needed a nerf, because it was actually a massive exploit.

    While people were oh so innocently saying that you could log on to different characters, go to cyro on each toon and earn crystals once a day for each toon--which makes it sound like you needed to work at earning those crystals--a lot of people had figured out this was a big exploit. There was literally a way to earn a **** ton of crystals without really doing much work at all--you only needed one pvp-worthy toon to do this this exploit to earn potentially 50 or more crystals every day. Seeing it was absolutely impossible to earn crystals at any rate close to that in pve, it was seriously unfair and ****ed up.

    When they announced the nerf--and it was indeed announced--I noticed an uptick in people cramming into Cyro to farm as many Rewards of the Worthy as they could per day until the update. So while I won't go into detail about the exact exploit here, it was obvious a lot of people knew about it. A lot of people following larger groups and just standing around during the siege, waiting get AP from the tick so to get their rewards. People knew it was an exploit, they were 100% exploiting, some of us who pvp even reported the exploit to ZOS because we knew it was ****ed up (so don't blame it on pve'rs), and it was pretty generous that all ZOS did was nerf it and not chase down big offenders with the ban hammer.

    It's still way easier to earn crystals in pvp than in pve, just a bit fairer now. So you can't exploit it and earn up to 50 or cystrals a day. Tragic. You're stuck with 4-15 crystals a day after earning a little bit of AP repping walls and taking one or two resources on just one toon, plus your 10 or 50 crystals you get at the end of the campaign for every toon that earns the end of campaign reward during that campaign. Oh the agony.

    Meanwhile in pve, you'd need to do daily pledges and weekly trials on multiple toons that are capable of doing pledges and trials (not to mention the grouping issues) just to get close that amount of crystals.

    Seriously people, stop whining before they nerf it again, this time out of sheer spite.

    It wasn't stealth nerfed, but seems that's already cleared up.

    I think it was out of balance, but I'd rather have seen the PvE rewards increase. Even with the nerf, pvp is by far the best way to earn TC. Sometimes nerfs are needed, not always buffing something else, but in this case, I think the pve rewards for TC need a bit of buffing.

    It was definitely the PVE carebears. Not the PVP players abusing it and getting super salty once people started bringing the exploit to ZOS' attention. No, definitely not the PVPers at all.

    I reported it to ZOS after I got a uncracked gold transmute crystal from PVP on my level 4 character who cant even go to Cyrodiil. You can't pretend that's intended.

    PVP stones are still way faster to earn than PVE so I'm cool with the change. Everyone I know has way too many stones to know what to do with anyway.

    Just do some pvp with each character you have, at end of campain you get 50 stones each character (30 days campain) plus 4-25 each day from tewards of the worthy, and you can stack them in your mail box, no expiring. And that is from pvp only.

    So lots of stones to get for little effort pvp wise.

    'Massive exploit'

    Bit of an exaggeration there. Changing the trait for a bound item is not a massive exploit. Now glitching a trail boss is a massive exploit.

    After the nerf I logged in once a day at reset (5pm Eastern Australian Time), opened 1 reward of the worthy each day for a week. Gold Geode. Cracked her open.. 1.. 2.. 5.. 3.. 2.. 1.. 2.. Either RNGeezus hates me, or I did something wrong.. 16 out of a possible 175.

    Being able to get gold uncracked transmute crystals at a rate far higher than intended is indeed an exploit. As I said above, I reported it after I got a gold uncracked crystal on a level 4 character who couldn't even enter Cyrodiil to earn rewards of the worthy. It clearly wasnt intended, therefore it was an exploit. (When I reported it, ZOS said it was an exploit and asked me not to do it again.)

    You can only use so many crystals before you run out of stuff to transmute and with the 'bag limit' and being non tradeable, why get more?

    As for being a 'massive' exploit, you still had to get the AP to earn rewards, and you can only use them yourself with no way to make a profit from the,. so it wasn't like it was a real game changer for those that might have 'abused' it.

    Rewards of the Worthy are supposed to be 4-25 cyrstals. That RNG sounds more like PVE crystal geodes.

    I was arguing the fact that it was a 'massive' exploit. An exploit, maybe, massive, certainly not.

    This was unintended by ZOS. You weren't supposed to be able to exploit transmute gems this way.

    We are just lucky that ZOS didn't ban every person guilty of using the exploit.

    It was a bit over the top to begin with if you compare it with PvE rewards (where you don’t get much more than 10 per geode and your standard purple geode after a daily pledge yields 1 crystal regularly).
